- I'm off now. Off is off. I looked at the discussion on the above article. Nothing is being said there. The comments are all just overall negative remarks about how awful this article is. You can probably get any number of people to say bad things about anything. Why pick on me? If you are going through my articles you better get going, as there are quite a few. But while you are doing that, what about all the others?
- I was, however, more concerned about you. I read your recent additions to your UP. I'm off now so I am not taking you on. I had my 20 years here and now it is time to go. After a time you need a certain amount of power to do the job. My brief bids were all turned down, but I was not that interested in power anyway. Now I can't defend myself against czars like you. But I am concerned about you. You have a huge load marked out for yourself, pages and pages of it, and yet you have a job to hold down and a career to worry about. Now you have both articles you would like to work on and a huge administrative load to worry about. How can you possibly keep up? When you do finally break and have to cut back, just remember, you did contribute something and some of it was worth while. Wikipedia's problems are not your personal problems. They can always find someone to work on them.
- Just off the top of my head, only one thought occurs to me about your write-up of what not to do. What, exactly, is left that you should do? How are we going to encourage people to be aggressive and write? But of course I do not know who you really are and what your intent really is. Anyone can find something wrong with anything. How are we to find something right? You can gain a certain notoriety by playing the devil with anything, but is that the best policy? Well, with these encouragements toward self-examination I leave you now. Content-wise, I think your view of what needs to be referenced could use some clarification. I won't be logging in for quite a while. I may delete my UP, I don't know. Off is off, so I got no interest in long confrontations. You're Wikipedia's problem or asset, whichever, not mine. Beat my stuff up all you like. My first good article on WP was torn to shreds within a month or two and that was 20 years ago. Ciao.Botteville (talk) 12:36, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
==July 2025 review==
I gave another quick check. Nothing new really, except I seem to be collecting "Thank you's" for work I have done. You're welcome, thank you. I'm still alive, but it seems to me the situation is still the same. Anyone so inclined can gang up on anyone by asking for help to do so. If you are the target of such a mob action you can't even make the format improvements that the programmers keep coming up with. This is Aristotle's degenerate form of democracy, mob rule. Previously I could comfort myself with the notion that out there somewhere was an objective body that could be counted on eventually being fair and reasonably objective. What I did not realize is that war might again raise its demonic head. War is not objective or reasonable and does not follow any protocol except death. World War III has pretty well started and I cannot believe some of the gibberish now uttered by formerly professional academics and student academics. Until it is settled I do not see us getting much of anywhere. I'm still off.Botteville (talk)
