Request reason:

I understand why I was blocked. Wikipedia rightly enforces policies to maintain neutrality, transparency, and a non-promotional environment. In this case, someone contributed on behalf of our organization without fully understanding the proper procedures, and I now recognize that this resulted in a conflict of interest and a breach of editing guidelines.

I’ve since reviewed Wikipedia’s policies on conflict of interest, paid contributions, and appropriate disclosure. I am committed to adhering to these rules moving forward and contributing responsibly, either by using the talk page to suggest edits or by following the appropriate channels for organizational representation.

I respectfully ask that this block be reconsidered. While I take full responsibility for the past actions, I hope that the organization I represent will not suffer long-term consequences due to these missteps. We are committed to learning from this and doing things the right way to align with Wikipedia’s integrity.

Decline reason:

The comments by Drm310 sum up the situation well, in addition, you need to choose a new username. I am declining this unblock request. PhilKnight (talk) 16:03, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

(Non-administrator comment) Multiple problems exist with this unblock request:

  1. It was made by an unregistered editor, who was not logged into this account. The blocked editor should be the one requesting the unblock while logged in, and certainly not someone else on their behalf.
  2. Your use of plural articles ("our organization", "We are committed") implies that multiple people have access to this account. Access to a Wikipedia account can never be shared. Accounts are meant for a single individual, for life.
  3. Your response was written by an AI tool (100% according to ZeroGPT). AI-authored unblocks are deemed to be inauthentic and administrators will not consider them.

--Drm310 🍁 (talk) 15:48, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I understand the mistakes, and I'm working to rectify them.
  1. I'm currently logged in to the account, and I'm making edits and requests as a registered editor now.
  2. I am the only one with access to this account. The use of "our" and "we" was used out of habit, but I am the sole user of this account and no one else has access to login or use the account. I apologize for the misuse of plural articles and will be sure to pay attention to avoid any confusion an ensure accuracy.
  3. I used AI to smooth out my response and to try to help me make sure I followed the rules. I realize now that, it needs to be written fully by me, and I accept that. I'm currently working to change my username in order to follow the rules, and I will make sure any future edits or requests are made without AI and follow the proper procedures and rules. I'm committed to making this right and will continue to follow rules and policies when using Wikipedia. Thank you for your consideration and helpful feedback as I learn the ropes here.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I would like to change my name to comply with Wikipedia username policy. I verified that this username is available and unique on Wikipedia. I realize that my username cannot be promotional, which was a reason this account was blocked. I now understand that it needs to be a neutral and distinct username. I understand the requirement to disclose any paid contributions, and if unblocked, I intend to contribute neutrally to articles and topics relevant to my interests which include travel, photography, wellness & exercise, etc. I will properly disclose any paid contributions and carefully read policy and rules to ensure any and all contributions I make align with Wikipedia's rules and policies. Thanks for considering my request. Matador Equipment (talk) 15:46, 21 July 2025 (UTC)

User is unresponsive. Yamla (talk) 21:11, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Yamla, thanks for your review. I don't understand the unresponsive comment. Could you please explain? I was logged out automatically and didn't see any notifications. I apologize if I missed a message. I believe I've responded to everything on my talk page. I'd appreciate more clarity if you're willing. Thank you! AlphaBravoZero (talk) 22:50, 7 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your first request says that you represent Matador. If you are employed by them, either directly or as a contractor/representative, you are a paid editor, it does not require specific payment for contributions. What edits do you want to make? 331dot (talk) 16:02, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yamla, please disregard my earlier message. I have read the'Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure' to understand how it works. I would to disclose that I am a paid full-time employee at Matador (matadorequipment.com) to follow the guidelines for transparency. I am also willing to submit payment required for contributions as you mentioned. I would like to make a paid contribution to the page 'Matador (Clearman Labs LLC)'. I have read the rules and will do it the right way so I'm in full compliance of Wikipedia's guidelines for conflict of interest and paid editing, and I won't edit the page directly. I understand that I need to make a draft and submit it for review. I will only share neutral, factual, non-promotional information with references from independent 3rd party sources. I'll wait for a Wikipedia editor to review it. Please reconsider unblocking my account. AlphaBravoZero (talk) 23:17, 7 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You have been renamed; as far as I can tell you were just blocked for your old username, so I will remove it.
Please read WP:BOSS, and have your superiors or colleagues read it, too. What you want to attempt to do is very challenging, and most in your position don't understand what they are getting into. Wikipedia is not a place to tell what a company wants the world to know about it, like its offerings, activities, and what it sees as its own history. A Wikipedia article about a company must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. "Significant coverage" is that which goes beyond just telling what the company does, and goes into detail about what the sources sees as important/significant/influential about the company, not what the company sees as important about itself. This means that sources like press releases, interviews, the reporting of routine business activities, and the like does not contribute to notability. You need to set aside everything that you know about your company. Most people in your position that I have seen have great difficulty with that. Are you one of the rare people who can? Maybe, but the odds are against it.
If these comments have not dissuaded you, you may use the Article Wizard to create a draft, once you have disclosed your employment on your user page. 331dot (talk) 17:05, 8 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It need to be emphasized, again, that there is no payment being asked for. When talking about "paid contributions," it is in the context of your status as a paid editor employed by this company and "contribution" refers to edits that you submit. I would urge you to read the guidelines more carefully because if you have a misconception on something as major as this, there could be misconceptions about other things too. It's OK to ask questions if there are things you don't understand.
If anyone offers to edit your page in return for money, it is likely a scam. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 17:44, 8 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I will further add to this excellent advice that your salary is sufficient to make you a paid editor; you don't need to get your company to specifically pay you to edit(and whether they do so or not is up to them). 331dot (talk) 18:34, 8 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both very much. That clarifies several things for me, including the meaning of "paid editor" and how to proceed with caution. I understand now that there is no payment being asked for, and I will review the guidelines and links shared here to make sure that any paid contribution is done from a neutral, unbiased, and summarizes what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have communicated about the organization. If I have questions, I'll make sure to ask. I appreciate the valuable resources and information. It's very helpful AlphaBravoZero (talk) 21:13, 8 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am a full-time employee at Matador Equipment, which can be found online at www.matadorequipment.com, and I would like to make a paid contribution to the page 'Matador (Clearman Labs LLC)'. I understand that I was blocked because I did not initially disclose my affiliation with the organization on my talk page. I also did not have a neutral username. However, I have successfully changed my username to comply with Wikipedia rules and guidelines. I have access to and understand the policies related to making a paid contribution. I am committed to doing it correctly. That means submitting a draft that is neutral and includes non promotional, 3rd party information with references. I will not submit any articles directly to Wikipedia's mainspace. I will wait for the article to be reviewed for neutrality and notability. If I have questions, I will ask on my talk page so that I fully understand the requirements and ensure that my contributions are in line with Wikipedias standards. I ask that the block be removed. Thank you for your consideration.
