Citations
[edit]Hey, I've noticed that a lot of your shortened footnotes aren't accompanied by a linked entry in the sources section of the article in question. For example, on the Bono Manso article, there are shortened footnotes to Boahen 2006, Ameyaw 1979, Kumah 2024, Flight 1970, Silverman 2015, and Warren 1975, but none of these appear in the sources section. Please make sure that you include the full information for these sources, using the appropriate formatting. Check out WP:SRF for more information. If the source is only used once in the article, it's probably easier to put the full bibliographic information between <ref> tags rather than using shortened footnotes.
I've noticed this problem on Bono Manso, Asante Empire, Adanse, Bono state, Akan people, and Wenchi, but it may happen elsewhere as well. It also might be due to typos or errors in the source listing. I apologize if any of these pages are not your doing.
Thanks for all your good work! Catjacket (talk) 11:34, 18 June 2025 (UTC)
- Some of them are not my doing, I've primarily been editing Adanse as of recent. I will try my best to find and fix them. Norcer has been a major contributor to the Bono and Akan pages, I would reach out to him as well. Thank you for the feedback. AkanArchives (talk) 12:56, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Starting with this edit on May 10th, you added Sfn cites that do not have a target reference within the article. These edits all have automatic edit summaries of "Tag: harv or sfn error". Please take a look at and adjust these errors and warnings per the instructions and tips found at Category:Harv and Sfn template errors#Resolving errors. - Shearonink (talk) 19:49, 2 July 2025 (UTC)
I've been taking a look at the Adanse article and there are quite a few issues with the Sfn cites...17 do not link up with target references. If you'll take a look at Ref #1/Konadu & Campbell, you'll notice that the Sfn shortened footnote links up with a complete reference, and that complete reference is listed under "Sources" -The Ghana Reader. The following cites have no target reference: Refs # 4, 5, 9, 11, 19, 28, 29, 30, 39, 40, 41, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, & 52. If you can, please add the complete references under "Sources". There are also some issues with the Kea Sfns. The Sfn cites are {{sfn|Kea|1982|p=523}}, but the Kea complete reference has a publication date of 2021 so that also needs to be fixed. - Shearonink (talk) 13:53, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
- Good evening, I have provided the sources for Konadu, Kea and Shinnie. AkanArchives (talk) 01:06, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. Thanks for fixing Addo-Fening/Refs 28 & 30. Here's the thing with this article. There were 4 Harv warnings and I had fixed 3. I again have fixed Anquandah, Arhin, and Kwasi/2022 by adding "ref=none" to their complete reference. They are unused sources. When you removed "ref=none" you broke the fixed references. Please leave those edits alone.
- However, you said you provided the sources for Kea? Again. Kea's work was published in 2021, but all the Kea Sfn cites still have a publication date of 1982. And a Kea reference with a publication date of 1982 does not exist in this article.
- And looking at Shinnie and Konadu. When I had previously edited this article, those cites were fine. They did not need to be adjusted or corrected.
- Here are the refs I listed above + (bolded) new ones - Refs # 4, 5, 9, 11, 15, 16, 19, 26, 29, 39, 40, 41, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 52, 56, & 61.
- There are now 21 Sfn cites that lack their target or complete reference citations, like Template:cite web or Template:cite book or Template:cite journal. There is now 1 Harv warning left, the Kea (What year was it published, 1982 or 2021?) Sfn cite. - Shearonink (talk) 04:44, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
