Your submission at Articles for creation: Nobuhiro Ōkōchi (November 13)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Dodger67 was:
This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability. Wikipedia requires significant coverage about the subject in reliable sources that are independent of the subject—see the guidelines on the notability of people and the golden rule. Please improve the submission's referencing (see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners), so that the information is verifiable, and there is clear evidence of why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia. If additional reliable sources cannot be found for the subject, then it may not be suitable for Wikipedia at this time.
The comment the reviewer left was:
If he was known as a painter the article has to actually discuss his art career.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Jmcgnh was:
This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability. Wikipedia requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject—see the guidelines on the notability of people, the golden rule and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue. Please improve the submission's referencing (see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners and Help:Introduction to referencing/1), so that the information is verifiable, and there is clear evidence of why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia. If additional reliable sources cannot be found for the subject, then it may not be suitable for Wikipedia at this time.
The comment the reviewer left was:
The first thing that must be established before creating a Wikipedia article is that the subject is notable. How do we judge notability? It requires that someone unconnected with the subject has written about them in-depth. While I don't read Japanese - and having some coverage in English-language sources would be helpful - I checked a few of the citations with Google translate and, as best I can see, the references fall into a few categories that cannot be used to establish notability:
  1. fan sites (user-generated content)
  2. interviews (not independent)
  3. media promotional announcements

Adding more of these types of references does not help establish notability for Wikipedia purposes.

I suggest that you bring your three best independent references to the help desk for a discussion before you re-submit. Until notability is established, continuing to re-submit is futile.

While there are and have been other problems with the submission (some of which other editors have fixed), the next hurdle that must be overcome is whether the text is overly promotional. At this point, there is so little prose here that it is hard to make that determination, but the association with Stardust Promotion in the lead is heading in that direction. A WP article needs to be more than a couple of sentences and a list of roles and appearances.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Nicely cited - but the familysearch.org gives information but is not useful for notability as it is a database of information (and not published). Other sources are written by him, are press releases, just mentions, or the "cross-cultural domain" one, which is based of an interview and so is not independent.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Tadateru Tokudaiji (November 24)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Onel5969 was:
To show notability you need several in-depth references from reliable, independent sources. Press releases are worthless, which is one of your current 2 references. The other, aside from being a trivial mention, is from an unreliable source.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

The comment the reviewer left was:
I know sources from pre-1990 will be hard to find, and I appreciate the work done so far in finding online versions of things, but there's really nothing in the way of significant coverage of the subject. Sure, there are a lot of brief mentions, but nothing in the way of coverage about Ōkōchi (for example, his presidency at the Ceramics Association is covered exclusively by the sentence "[he] will be appointed the next president"). Please add additional independent reliable sources that discuss the subject in detail.

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Chetsford was:
Neologisms are not considered suitable for Wikipedia unless they receive substantial use and press coverage; this requires strong evidence in independent, reliable, published sources. Links to sites specifically intended to promote the neologism itself do not establish its notability.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Long Island Business News and E! are good sources, however, the depth of biographical coverage contained in them is lacking. Patch is questionably WP:RS. Subject fails WP:NACTOR.

The comment the reviewer left was:
National Socialist Japanese Workers Party is currently a redirect to Uyoku dantai, which includes a brief description covering most of the information in this stub. If it's to be argued that they're notable enough for their own article, it really needs more information than exists in the merged article.

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Paul Matsudaira, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:22, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
