Template talk:TFAFULL

Edit request 20 September 2025

[edit]

Description of suggested change: This change adds a third optional parameter for custom display text in featured topic links. When the display text contains double apostrophes (indicating italicized text), the template uses {{#invoke:Invert italics|main}} to display the italicized text in normal type, following the convention that italicized terms should appear in normal font within already-italicized text. The change also includes a period check to prevent double periods when featured topic name already ends with a period. I have implemented this change in the sandbox and it can be tested by putting {{TFAFULL/sandbox}} to any page.

Have you discussed this proposed change anywhere? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:35, 23 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@MSGJ: I submitted this edit request, because reverse italics were needed on the Main Page then. I tried to start a discussion here, but no one replied. I haven't discussed the change elsewhere since then. Do you think it would help if I posted about this at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article? Xoontor (talk) 16:49, 23 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
