Jewish Leader additions

[edit]

Since this is going to be the replacement for 'Jewish Leader', I propose adding a bunch of fields/parameters:

  • Birth date (religious calendar)
  • Death date (religious calendar)
  • Military Service Rank
  • Military Service Country
  • Military Service Division
  • Organization
  • Organization Position
  • Organization Constituency
  • Thesis title
  • Synagogue/Temple (as a mask for Churches)

Rabbis often prefer to have their birthdays and yahrtzeit listed according to the Hebrew calendar. Also, 'Jewish Leaders' can be community leaders, like CEOs of local Jewish Federations or of national advocacy organizations. @Jonesey95, @Yeshivish613, @Frietjes, @Debresser comments? Change
{{compare|local={{{image|}}}}}<noinclude>
to
{{#ifeq:{{{embed|}}}|yes||{{compare|local={{{image|}}}}}}}<noinclude>
I put this in the sandbox as well. It makes it so if embed is set, it is not added to Category:No local image but image on Wikidata because there are false results in there otherwise. Casablanca 🪨(T) 18:43, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I have implemented this in a different way. Please ping me if I broke anything. – Jonesey95 (talk) 22:07, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that I have completed this merge in the sandboxes. Please see Template:Infobox religious biography/testcases#All Params and Template:Infobox Jewish leader/testcases and let me know if you see any issues. – Jonesey95 (talk) 04:33, 8 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I see no issues AFAICT. Sophisticatedevening(talk) 10:37, 8 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
 Done. – Jonesey95 (talk) 12:33, 8 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Awards not displaying

[edit]

So |awards= is a valid param, but it isn’t displaying… @Jonesey95: looks like this might be related to some of the changes you’ve made. Is it supposed to display in place of |mawards=? Want to make sure I implement this correctly… —Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 06:36, 29 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It used to display after influenced (data87, now data108). I note that data109 is missing. It looks like I semi-merged deleted the |awards= parameter with |mawards= in this 2024 edit, in which I merged another editor's sandbox code. This looks like a mistake. Let me see about fixing it. – Jonesey95 (talk) 11:43, 29 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed. Thanks for finding this error. It was not my coding error, but it was my responsibility. The #if test in the Military awards section threw me off; it is probably not really needed. – Jonesey95 (talk) 11:49, 29 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I thought it was a simple fix but didn’t want to implement it wrong. — Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 18:46, 29 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
