Don Hutson Mis-Identification

[edit]

It is a common misconception that the original statue was of Don Hutson, or often misspelled Don Hudson. The original statue had a jersey with the number '88' and the name 'Packer'. Don Hutson's jersey was number '14'. The original plaque states it was dedicated to the "great past, present and future enshrinees in the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame". Don Hutson's name is not mentioned on the plaque. Rauglothgor (talk) 22:07, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose, spelling, and grammar): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
I do not think that two sentences warrants a seperate "Legacy" section, I believe that this section should be merged with "History"
Having this section creates the TOC and provides a nice finality to the article. I don't see any policy issues with the section. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 22:51, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable, as shown by a source spot-check.
a (reference section): b (inline citations to reliable sources): c (OR): d (copyvio and plagiarism):
@Gonzo fan2007:, I do not see the part where it says that Curly Lambeau designed and constructed the statue, I have checked both the archived and live versions of the source.
He was not only a pioneer of the forward pass in pro football, but also one of the game's most prolific passers in those early years. this is what the sources says, which supports the statement in the article about Lambeau developing the passing game. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 22:51, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
No edit wars having ever taken place on the article, last edit on 26 March, last major one four days before that.
  6. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free content have non-free use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
Illustrated with two images, enough for an article of this size. Both have appropriate copyright.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

I will be continuing my review later. It seems likely that this will be promoted. Easternsahara (talk) 19:45, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
