Request for job title update

[edit]

I'm hoping Wikipedia editors can update this article's infobox and introduction to accurately reflect Priscilla Almovodar's full title, which is president and CEO of Fannie Mae.

The article currently notes that Almodovar joined Fannie Mae as chief executive officer in 2022, which is correct. But the role of president was held by David Benson until 2024 when he stepped down. Almodovar then assumed the additional title of president, which included the management responsibilities of overseeing the single-family and multi-family business units. This article from HousingWire and this article from National Mortgage Professional both cover the news and include all of the relevant details.

I'm hoping that editors can refer to the news citations above and update the infobox job title to "President and CEO of Fannie Mae" and the introduction to "Priscilla Almodovar is the president and chief executive officer of Fannie Mae" or similar wording.

I handle comms for Fannie Mae and my understanding is that I should post requests like this here. Please let me know if you require any further information or if I need to adjust my formatting. Thanks! DMfromFM (talk) 15:52, 23 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead: I have reviewed these proposed changes and suggest that you go ahead and make the proposed changes to the page. @DMfromFM Rusalkii (talk) 21:32, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I updated the infobox and introduction. Does that look okay? DMfromFM (talk) 18:01, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, looks good to me. Rusalkii (talk) 02:09, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Wonderful, thank you Rusalkii. I just posted another small request (see below) that it would be great if you could review. I'm not sure how many editors are paying attention to this page. DMfromFM (talk) 14:47, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The COI edit request queue is very backlogged right now, using the template gets you on the list and someone gets to it eventually even if no one is watching this page but eventually may be months, I know it's frustrating. Rusalkii (talk) 18:01, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request for correction

[edit]

Hello, I have another request for a small article update.

Right now the article includes the claim that "From 2021 to 2025, Almodovar served on then-United States Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm’s Energy Advisory Board, and was a member of its place-based working group to address the energy transition of underserved communities."

This isn't quite correct, though. The cited source makes it clear that the Energy Advisory Board members only served through 2023. And Priscilla Almodovar actually left the board in 2022 when she became CEO of Fannie Mae.

Given the inaccuracies, would editors be willing to simply remove this claim? The current citation is a press release and I can't find any media coverage that provides further details.

Because of my conflict of interest I’m hoping another editor might be able to help me with this request. Thanks! DMfromFM (talk) 15:40, 2 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request for updates and reorganization of Career

[edit]

Hello, I have another request, although this time it is for a larger change to improve the tone and organization of the page, making it more like the standard structure I've seen in other Wikipedia articles. In brief, my proposal is to re-organize existing information in the article into an Early life and education section and update the Career section. In addition to this restructuring, there are some details that are missing citations or need better ones, and revisions are needed to make it less promotional and provide a clearer overview of her career milestones.

Listing my changes in detail:

  • There's a new Early life and education section, into which I've added information from Personal life about where she grew up, and information from Career about her education. I've added references as needed.
  • In the Career section, I've removed the subsection headings for Enterprise and Fannie Mae, as these seemed unnecessary given the section is not that long or detailed.
  • In that section, I've made some updates throughout to clarify key dates and changes in her career, added new major recognition, and added citations as needed.
  • There was some phrasing throughout the Career that sounded a little promotional to me, so I've removed that or made copy edits to tone it down. Including:
    • Removing: "During her tenure, she spearheaded the negotiation of maintaining affordability at Starrett City in Brooklyn, NY, one of the largest and most economically- and racially-mixed housing complexes in the country"
    • Trimming the quote from the sentence re: her Affordable Housing Finance recognition.
    • Trimming back the sentence about Enterprise's Equitable Path initiative.
    • Removing: "Almodovar served as co-chair of the New York State Health Innovation Council and has been honored by the United Hospital Fund for her work to create stable, healthy communities."

Here's the full draft of all these changes, also showing the Personal life so you can see how the re-organization of content affects that section:

Draft for Early life and education, Career and Personal life

Early life and education

[edit]

Almodovar grew up in Sunset Park, Brooklyn and Freeport, Long Island.[1] She received a bachelor's degree from Hofstra University in 1987.[2] She then received a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School.[3]

Career

[edit]

Almodovar started her career at the New York-based law firm White & Case,[4] where she served as a corporate finance partner for 14 years.[5]

In 2005, she joined Eliot Spitzer's New York gubernatorial campaign as deputy policy director.[6] After the election, Almodovar took leadership of the New York State Housing Finance Agency and the State of New York Mortgage Agency.[7]

In 2010, Almodovar joined JPMorgan Chase as a managing director,[8] and went on to lead two business segments: community development banking and real estate banking.[9][10] In 2016, Affordable Housing Finance identified Almodovar as one of the most influential women in the real estate industry.[11]

Almodovar joined Enterprise Community Partners as its president and chief executive officer in 2019.[12] In 2020, she oversaw the creation of Enterprise's five-year, $3.5 billion affordable housing initiative.[13]

In February 2021, Almodovar joined the board of directors of Vereit, a Phoenix-based real estate investment trust.[14] In November 2021, Realty Income acquired Vereit, and Almodovar joined Reality Income's board.[15]

Almodovar became the chief executive officer of Fannie Mae in 2022.[16] She also joined the board of directors of the government-sponsored enterprise.[17] In 2024, Forbes included her on its Most Powerful Women list, noting that she was the "only Latina leading an S&P 500 company."[18] Fortune included her on its Most Powerful Women list that same year and the next.[19][20] In 2025, she assumed the additional title and capacities of president of Fannie Mae.[21]

Personal life

[edit]

She is married to Eric Dinallo, New York State's superintendent of insurance from 2007 to 2010. They have two children.[5]

Would editors be willing to replace the current Career and Personal life sections with this draft?

I'm posting this due to my conflict of interest as part of the comms team at Fannie Mae. Please let me know how I can best assist as editors review this. Thanks! DMfromFM (talk) 18:48, 2 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Done Thanks for putting this all together and formatting Dahawk04 (talk) 13:45, 3 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Dahawk04! I did notice that the Enterprise and Fannie Mae subsections are still showing so now there's some duplicated information. Would you be able to delete those sections since they're no longer needed? Thank you! DMfromFM (talk) 15:31, 7 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and removed the duplicative paragraphs, since those were obviously an oversight from when Dahawk04 previously updated the article. I also updated the sentence about Priscilla assuming the "additional title and capacities of president of Fannie Mae" to note the correct year. I noted my COI in the edit summary and referred back to this Talk page post. DMfromFM (talk) 19:28, 31 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request to update infobox

[edit]

I'm hoping Wikipedia editors can update this article's infobox. Right now the "Preceded by" category says "David Benson (acting)". This is correct in that Priscilla Almodovar did replace David Benson as Fannie Mae CEO in 2022. But she also replaced Hugh Frater as Fannie Mae President in 2024, as you can see in this HousingWire article, so the "Preceded by" entry is a little confusing.

Could we simply have two entries for that category? So something like:

  • David Benson (acting CEO)
  • Hugh Frater (President)

I handle comms for Fannie Mae and my understanding is that I should post requests like this here. Please let me know if you require any further information or if I need to adjust my formatting. Thanks! DMfromFM (talk) 19:57, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DMfromFM: You are correct that you should make suggestions here rather than edit it yourself given your employment situation; we really appreciate you being proactive in doing that. I just have one clarification point prior to fulfilling this edit request regarding that HousingWire article as it states "Benson will remain the president of Fannie Mae." and doesn't state that Almodovar took over; that piece is also from 2022, not 2024 as you stated. Did you mean to link another? TheSandDoctor Talk 04:55, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, TheSandDoctor, I did indeed link to the wrong HousingWire article. This piece from November 2023 is the one I wanted. It states: "President David Benson will step down from his position in early to mid-2024 after 21 years at the company. [...] CEO Priscilla Almodovar, who joined Fannie Mae in 2022, will assume the additional title of president, Fannie Mae said." DMfromFM (talk) 16:03, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've made the change based on the information in the piece. You'd originally stated that she replaced Hugh Frater as President, though? That has me a little confused. TheSandDoctor Talk 16:31, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I was typing too quickly and got that wrong when I first posted. To be clear, Hugh Frater retired as CEO in 2022. David Benson, the then company president, was appointed as interim CEO. A few months later, Priscilla Almodovar was announced as the new CEO effective Dec. 5. In mid-2024, Benson stepped down as president and was replaced by CEO Priscilla Almodovar. The way you have it in the infobox right now is correct. Again, I'm sorry for the confusion on this. DMfromFM (talk) 19:14, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@DMfromFM: I'm glad to hear it's correct and that I could assist! No worries re the confusion. Just wanted to make sure we were on the same page. TheSandDoctor Talk 15:36, 23 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@DMfromFM: Actually...do you happen to have the month that Priscilla took over? Ideally it's nicer to be more specific than just the year, if it's published somewhere. TheSandDoctor Talk 15:37, 23 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
