Talk:Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal is not a "Chilean and American actor", but a Chilean who obtained the American (administrative) nationality

[edit]

It should only be emphasized that Pedro Pascal is Chilean, and in a paragraph at the end of the article, add that he obtained the American (administrative) nationality (about this last point there is no reliable evidence: maybe he only has a green card).

Formal objective data:

Sources of nationality: (Ius Solis and Ius Sanguinis) Pedro Pascal was born in Santiago de Chile and both parents are Chilean; Pedro Pascal's mother and father were born in Chile.

Objective data of feelings of belonging

Pedro Pascal makes constant references and public acts of belonging to Chile and the love and affection he feels for his country. He proudly displays his Chilean passport on social networks. We have never seen Pedro Pascal make any statement about being or feeling American. He is not interested in US as a country of “belonging” beyond being his source of work, of the concrete American friends he has in that country.

A recent edit refers to Pedro Pascal calling JK Rowling a “heinous loser.” His actual Instagram post comment referred to her anti-Trans behavior as “heinous loser behavior.” 108.45.49.209 (talk) 02:54, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The IP is requesting that the article is corrected to reflect that Pascal characterised Rowling’s behaviour in that way, rather than referring to her as a loser. Rafts of Calm (talk) 00:36, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please allow me to edit the biography in the section about Pedro Pascal's origins, since the source is only a brief and incomplete quote from an interview in the Spanish online newspaper Mallorca.

Furthermore, that biography only emphasizes the Spanish grandparents of one of his Chilean parents, thus omitting the actor's entire Chilean ancestry of seven generations.

Furthermore, there is a part of the biography that is erroneous and also misleading; it alludes to Pedro Pascal's (or Pascal's father's) alleged membership in the "Castilian-Basque aristocracy.": the sources on which this statement is supposedly based are two newspaper articles from The New York Times, neither of which ever mentions or alludes to a "Castilian-Basque aristocracy." The first article, by John Koblin (2017), regarding the actor's origins only mentions his birth in Santiago, Chile. The second article, by Robert Ito (2014), also mentions Santiago de Chile regarding the actor's origins, but there is no reference to a supposed "Castilian-Basque aristocracy."

Finally, I don't understand how they put this article "protected" with incorrect, erroneous, and incomplete citations and wording, with sources that do not refer to what is stated or written. Javehgt (talk) 08:47, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now An edit request is meant for asking a specific thing to be changed. Your account is brand-new, if you have more experience, i.e., edits to your name, you'll be granted the rights to edit the article. Pascal is a popular actor and as such the article about him attracts vandalism and unconstructive edits. I'll try to go over the sources later today, I'll edit it accordingly if needed. Or get to editing and you can do it in no time! soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 08:53, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Chilean ancestry is like saying Canadian ancestry, it doesn't say anything at all unless you have native American ancestry which he doesn't have. Also, Balmaseda IS a Basque last name, so he definitely has Basque ancestry. Never heard of someone complaining about 6th generation Americans been labeled as whatever their ancestry is. 79.117.233.62 (talk) 12:23, 31 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Pascal signed an open letter criticizing the film industry's "passivity" during the ongoing Gaza genocide.[117]

Wiki should be more objective and rephrase "the ongoing Gaza genocide.[117]" Something more along the lines of "the situation in Gaza". The UN has been refuted regarding this and Wiki should state it in this way.

anxiety

[edit]

Pedro Pascal has mentioned that he suffers from anxiety, should this be mentioned? This has also led to the birth of several memes although I do not believe these are notable. Pr0m37h3u$ (talk) 10:31, 12 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
