Talk:Miguel Uribe Turbay

Miguel Uribe disambiguation

[edit]

I am unfamiliar with Spanish naming customs, but I have seen news articles that "Miguel Uribe" has been shot. Does that other article warrant a disambiguation link here? Henstepl (talk) 02:54, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Most likely. This article was created recently (after the other), but before current events. I was contemplating disam-ing it or making it the primary topic and moving the current page, but it definitively warrants one of the two now imo. Mason7512 (talk) 03:12, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Assassination Attempt

[edit]

I think that this event likely justifies its own page if anyone has access to enough good sources. -Ad Orientem (talk) 14:16, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There is already a page on Spanish Wikipedia: es:Intento de asesinato de Miguel Uribe Turbay fyi. My only concern would be long-term notability (as opposed to just being a news-worthy current event). Mason7512 (talk) 16:26, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would argue that the attempted assassination of a presidential candidate, especially where they are critically wounded, would be presumptively notable. -Ad Orientem (talk) 20:38, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not saying you're wrong, but he is not a presidential candidate, he is pre-candidate- basically a candidate for his party's nomination. Mason7512 (talk) 20:47, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Pre-candidate feels like a term invented five minutes ago. Party candidate feels more natural and intuitive. Killuminator (talk) 16:08, 14 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
precandidato is the word used in spanish, and before this event, the word I saw used in the limited english-language reporting on these processes was precandidate. Mason7512 (talk) 19:03, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Unexplained content removal - August 2025

[edit]

58.7.0.114: Please give me a valid reason why you keep removing content and the reason you keep undoing my revisions. I don't want to break 3RR as we're close to up to 3 reverts. First off, the reason you gave the removal for the content was invalid then you kept undoing my revisions without explaining why. PEPSI697 (💬) (📝) 07:23, 19 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
