Proposed merge of Feigned madness into Malingering

[edit]

This article is about malingering in regards to mental illness, and mostly lists examples. What is to be merged requires discussion in order to establish what merits inclusion, and what can be verified, as sources are lacking. BlockArranger (talk) 16:00, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Update to PTSD section with peer-reviewed sources

[edit]

The previous version relied on a 2016 Guardian media report to support a specific “>10%” figure regarding falsified service history. To improve compliance with WP:MEDRS and WP:RS, the revised version cites a 2019 JAAPL forensic review and a verified-records study (Frueh et al., 2005), which are peer-reviewed academic sources. The wording has also been adjusted to reflect scholarly caution about fixed prevalence estimates and to acknowledge diagnostic limitations. The goal is neutrality and verifiability, not to overstate or understate the phenomenon. Feedback welcome. Sierkejd (talk) 16:27, 14 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
