![]() | This page was proposed for deletion by Omnis Scientia (talk · contribs) in the past with the comment: No other baseball player has a separate page for their legacy. Most of this is praising Clemente. I admire Clemente as much as anyone can but this page is unnecessary and also possibly violates WP:NPOV since it seems to be made by a fan. The few accolades mentioned are already present in Roberto Clemente's main page. The documentary list is available in the IMdb link there as well. It was contested by StefenTower (talk · contribs) on 12 December 2023 with the comment: I think this heavily footnoted article should stay unless an AfD judges otherwise |
Per the very recent AfD Keep decision, I have restored the last parts of the article that were deleted out, even I though I wonder if more should be restored. While there is a claim of this conversion to a redirect being due to research, what I've witnessed is a lot of deleting and no filling in that would come from the research. That it weights in only one direction is curious and gives the appearance of fulfilling a WP:POINT. Stefen Towers among the rest! Gab • Gruntwerk 18:22, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
A single letter was sent to the Pope...
[edit]Basically what I also posted at Talk:Richard Rossi. There's a single letter. From a private individual. Written to the Pope. (I mean, really, I have to wonder how many millions of letters get written to the Pope every year.) Per WP:TRIVIA & WP:NOTDB this is not an important portion of the legacy ot Mr. Clemente. Besides, there is a clear-cut route to a person being declared a Roman Catholic Saint...get permission from the Vatican office, then maybe declared Venerable, Beatified, and finally Sainthood. The Bishop from or people in the Diocese of Puerto Rico would be the person or persons who would have to be given permission by the Vatican for an investigation into Clement even being considered for the path to sainthood. Per the BBC "If there is sufficient evidence, the bishop asks the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, the department that makes recommendations to the Pope on saints, for permission to open the case." But, yeah, let's discuss. - Shearonink (talk) 17:06, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
