- Hello VViking, my name is Hannah and I work for Forrester research. I see that the changes my colleague made earlier this year, which were deemed too promotional, have been removed so I was wondering if the violation warning could be removed from the page? I apologise that the content added was too promotional.
- I am working on suggested updates to our page and will share with you and the editors on here for review to ensure we don't violate the terms of conduct. As I have a conflict of interest, I won't make any changes myself. Please let me know if you have any questions. Hansegvich (talk) 08:51, 17 June 2025 (UTC)

Forrester’s Evaluative research portfolio includes The Forrester Wave™ [15], a methodology to review technology vendors in a specific market and provide a guide for making purchasing decisions. Forrester’s Landscape Reports define market maturity, detail market dynamics and use cases, and provide a list of vendors or providers based on size, focus, and geography. [edit]- Why it should be changed:
Hello,
Per feedback from Wikipedia, I am providing the proposed edits above to improve the accuracy and completeness of the content for this page. Seeing as it has been a while since this page was last updated, my goal is to ensure this article reflects verifiable, up-to-date information and follows Wikipedia's neutral point of view guidelines. Key edits include updating the History section to reflect Forrester's key acquisitions and timeline initiatives over its 40 years of existence with citations; updating Forrester's research models and frameworks and including a link to its rigorous research methodology and commitment to publishing objective research: https://www.forrester.com/about-us/objectivity/; and removing or revising content that was outdated and/or lacked sourcing.
I've done my best to use only independent, reliable third-party sources and to avoid any promotional language. I welcome feedback and am open to suggestions from other editors. If any part of this page needs improvement per the proposed edits above, I am happy to collaborate to ensure the article remains in line with Wikipedia's standards. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best, Ira Kantor

Partly done: This draft has a few issues including some sections (specifically first paragraph in history, events, and leadership) being unreferenced. reliable sources are required for any Wikipedia article. Some sections also feel promotional in tone, specifically the Research Themes, Models, and Frameworks section. I've added what I feel is appropriate, but not everything. I'd recommend either modifying the draft or opening new requests for each section individually. Thanks, Encoded Talk 💬 09:34, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- I've marked the areas I've added in green. I also think that WP:NOTPRICE should be read before further changes are requested. Thanks, Encoded Talk 💬 09:40, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
Requesting removal of "undisclosed payments" messaging on page
[edit]![]() | This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. The reviewer would like to request the editor with a COI attempt to discuss with editors engaged in the subject-area first. |
- What I think should be changed: Removing the message "This article may have been created or edited in return for undisclosed payments, a violation of Wikipedia's terms of use. It may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view. (January 2025)"
- Why it should be changed: I am an employee of Forrester Research and I made edits to this article to correct outdated or inaccurate information and add reliably sourced, factual updates. I understand Wikipedia’s guidelines on conflict of interest and neutrality, and I did not intend to promote or advertise the company. All additions were based on publicly available, verifiable sources and written in a neutral tone. Request for editors to update introduction
[edit]Hi @Encoded thank you so much for reviewing and removing the violation alert. I want to make updates to the page to remove any promotional wording, add more sources and update so it's factually correct. I will do this section by section so it's easier to review.
Firstly, I have updated the first paragraph which details what Forrester is and where it is located. You can see this in my Sandbox User:Hansegvich - Wikipedia. I have added multiple sources confirming that Forrester is referred to as a 'research and advisory firm', and have added the three business segments and location of its headquarters.
As I work at Forrester, I won't make these changes myself and appreciate any feedback. Thank you! Hansegvich (talk) 10:08, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Encoded,
- I wanted to send a follow up on my previous message as I can see the Sandbox didn't work. I have included below my suggested changes to the introduction, including sources, and my reasons why I have made the changes. As I work at Forrester, I won't make these changes myself and appreciate any feedback.
- {{edit COI}}
- * Specific text to be added or removed:
- Current introduction:
- Forrester Research, Inc. is a global research and advisory firm. The firm is headquartered in Cambridge, MA with global offices in Amsterdam, London, New Delhi, New York, NY, Norwalk, CT, Paris, San Francisco, Singapore, Stockholm, and Sydney.
- Suggested introduction:
- Forrester Research, Inc. is a research and advisory firm[HS1] [1][2][3] focusing on technology, customer experience, digital, marketing, sales, and product topics. The company consists of three segments: Research, Consulting and Events[HS2] .[4] The firm is headquartered in Cambridge, MA.[5]
- ----[1] O’Reilly, Lara (March 3, 2025), The Elon tax: Ad insiders say they're advising clients to spend on X to avoid legal and political headaches

- * Reason for the change: I have added multiple sources confirming that Forrester is referred to as a 'research and advisory firm' as this had been missing, and have added the three business segments and location of its headquarters. I removed the list of offices as I believe this is avoided on Wikipedia and I don't have suitable sources to support this list.
- I would also like to update the History section, and can share my suggested updates in stages. Thanks! Hansegvich (talk) 15:24, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hey thanks for the ping and sorry for missing your earlier message. It's gotten quite late here today so I'm logging off for the evening, I've added this to the top of my to do list to do when I'm next online. Sorry for the delay! Thanks, Encoded Talk 💬 22:12, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you @Encoded! Hansegvich (talk) 08:34, 26 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Hansegvich, I'm holding off adding this for now because I think listing every type of product may violate WP:NOTCATALOG (point 6)
Neither articles nor their associated talk pages are for conducting the business of the topic of the article. Listings to be avoided include, but are not limited to: [...], products and services, [..], subdivisions
. How would something like this sound: - Forrester Research, Inc. is a research and advisory firm[HS1] [1][2][3] focusing on [select one or two most notable ones]. The firm is headquartered in Cambridge, MA.[5]
- or
- Forrester Research, Inc. is a research and advisory firm[HS1] working in research, consulting and events[HS2].[4] The firm is headquartered in Cambridge, MA.[5]
- I think that having either the divisions or a few notable products is fine but a whole list of products would violate that policy. You can still have a products section within the article provided they are notable enough, or you could work their release dates into the history section. Thanks, Encoded Talk 💬 07:30, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Encoded, thanks for your guidance, appreciated. Would the below work ok instead? I have taken your second suggestion and added in a line about Forrester clients as I've seen in other articles (such as Gartner's) it's common to reference who the company serves, but let me know if there are any issues with adding this.
- Forrester Research, Inc. is a research and advisory firm[HS1] [1][2][3] working in research, consulting and events[HS2].[4] Forrester’s clients include large global business, technology and consumer enterprises. The firm is headquartered in Cambridge, MA.[5]
- [1] O’Reilly, Lara (March 3, 2025), The Elon tax: Ad insiders say they're advising clients to spend on X to avoid legal and political headaches
