The term "film session" is not unique to sports. A film session is merely an activity period in which filming takes place (like a photo session for photography) or otherwise involves film. It was coined by the entertainment industry unions as part of contract language. It was not coined by the sports world. This article should not imply that it is soley or originated as a sports term.
