- ... that the aria "Caro mio ben" has been attributed to three Giordanis, one of whom was unrelated?
- Reviewed:
- Comment: An intriguingly confusing aria when it comes to attribution. My first DYK so sorry if I'm doing something wrong.

- Source could be a WP:SELFPUB violation; requesting additional information from nominator
| QPQ: None required. |
Overall:
All good on newness, length, sourcing, neutrality and plagiarism-check. Hook is cited and interesting; I would potentially rewrite to make it "three different Giordanis", just to make it clear that the three Giordanis weren't credited as a group. I do have a bit of a question mark over the source for the hook, and would appreciate some further information about the site to make sure it satisfies WP:RS, because it reads more like a blog, and therefore could potentially fall afoul of WP:SELFPUB. No QPQ needed. Placing this nomination on hold until the nominator comes back on the source query. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 22:07, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hello, thank you for the review. This website does seem to be self-published but I will let you decide if he has enough expertise in the area. This page gives some information about the website and the author. This website, the Dictionary of Irish Biography, also confirms this, although I initially chose the Naples LDM website as it laid everything out simply. This book (p. 128) also confirms that one of the Giordanis was of no relation to the others. Thanks, Chorchapu (talk | edits) 00:45, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

- Thanks for the reply! I'm happy with the DIB ref as an alternative source for the DYK. Reading the "About me" page you linked, I still have doubts about the reliability of this site with regards to SELFPUB; specifically, I don't see any evidence to satisfy the exception around sources "
published by an established subject-matter expert, whose work in the relevant field has previously been published by reliable, independent publications
". Unless you have any strong exceptions, I would suggest removing this source from the article and then making sure that the remaining sources for these sentences are sufficiently covered by the remaining sources.
With that said, given the new DIB ref and what I've said about the original source, I'm happy to now pass this nomination now. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 23:36, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
