[edit]I had a good time reading this nice article. I made a few notes as I did, just in case you want to have a look at them, HurricaneHiggins. Thank you very much for your hard work on this.
- He won a £147,000 bonus for making two maximums across the season's four qualifying events - I understand what this means, but because I knew about it beforehand. Otherwise, I believe the word qualifying can be misleading here, given that there is no context (as opposed to the context given in the Prize fund section).
- The wildcards included eleven players from Saudi Arabia (Omar Alajlani, Ayman Alamri, Saud Albaker, Fahad Alghamdi, Musaad Almisfir, Abdullah Alotayyani, Ziyad Alqabbani, Abdullah Alshammari, Ahmed Aseeri, Abdulraouf Saigh, and Musab Sayegh); two from Pakistan (Adeel Aqdus and Asif Mukhtar); and one each from Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (Habib Subah Humood, Hesham Shawky, and Mohammed Al Joker respectively) - I think this could be simplified a bit, with commas: The wildcards included eleven players from Saudi Arabia (Omar Alajlani, Ayman Alamri, Saud Albaker, Fahad Alghamdi, Musaad Almisfir, Abdullah Alotayyani, Ziyad Alqabbani, Abdullah Alshammari, Ahmed Aseeri, Abdulraouf Saigh, and Musab Sayegh), two from Pakistan (Adeel Aqdus and Asif Mukhtar), and one each from Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (Habib Subah Humood, Hesham Shawky, and Mohammed Al Joker respectively)
- Chang Bingyu, who had served a two-year ban - Could a link to List of snooker players investigated for match-fixing#Chinese match-fixing ring be added?
- Evans trailed Liam Davies 1–2 but and Stan Moody trailed Liam Highfield 3–4 but - Consecutive sentences with the same structure.
- a former World Seniors Champion - Is that capital c in Champion correct?
- setting up a team around me of (psychologist) Helen Davis - I see (psychologist) is bracketed in the source, but shouldn't it be between []?
- escaping from a snooker - I think {{cuegloss}} could be added here, either for escape or for snooker.
- a cut - {{cuegloss}} for cut shot here.
That's what I saw. I hope it can be helpful. Kind regards, Alavense (talk) 07:37, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, @Alavense! Really glad you enjoyed the article. I hugely appreciate your comments and input, and I've made changes accordingly:
- I changed "four qualifying events" to "four eligible tournaments" as I agree that "qualifying event" could also refer to the qualifiers that precede the main stage of a tournament
- I simplified that wildcard sentence, taking out the unnecessary semi-colons
- I added the link to the match-fixing investigation
- I fixed the consecutive sentences with the same structure
- Yes, the cue sports manual of style recommends that titles such as World Champion should be capitalised, so this would extend to titles such as World Seniors Champion or World Women's Champion as well
- Cuegloss references added as suggested
- Thank you again! Much appreciated. HurricaneHiggins (talk) 11:13, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- PS, @Alavense, I also fixed the brackets around "psychologist". Thanks again! HurricaneHiggins (talk) 11:18, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, HurricaneHiggins. I would very much like to see this as a good article nominee at some point. :) Kind regards, Alavense (talk) 15:46, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, @Alavense! I'll do a bit more tinkering and then nominate it. :-) HurricaneHiggins (talk) 18:36, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
