Draft talk:Effects of hurricanes Frances and Jeanne in Florida
Combined effects
[edit]Since we are doing Frances and Jeanne at this point should we just do the 2004 atlantic hurricane season? That would include Charley, Ivan, Frances, and Jeanne; maybe Bonnie. WeatheredAviation (talk) 18:49, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- No. Each storm gets their own section. This isn't becoming an article. It's a page to store information until everything is ready to be merged. Columbia719 (talk) 19:17, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- This page will not get merged. Eventually, this will become an article. WeatheredAviation (talk) 19:24, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- No, it will not. This draft is to collect and organize information about Hurricane Frances and Jeanne's effects in Florida. When that task is completed, it will be moved to their appropriate articles. Columbia719 (talk) 20:08, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- And who authorized you to make that decision? Why can’t it become an article? WeatheredAviation (talk) 20:10, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- There's no need to create an article about it. Everything can be moved to their appropriate section without overwhelming their respective article. I stated on Hurricane Jeanne's talk page that I will work on the draft if the information is not expected to be a stand-alone article in its final state, and the draft's purpose is to collect and organize information to merge into their respective article. Columbia719 (talk) 20:16, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- The whole point of making the article is because it crowds the main article and is harder to read. WeatheredAviation (talk) 20:18, 7 September 2025 (UTC)

- Says who that we can’t have a proper article on the Effects of Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne in Florida? Says who that effects articles do not matter? Says who that you are in charge of the whole site? WeatheredAviation (talk) 20:21, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- Neither of these questions answer my question. Lets not create tension in this atmosphere, please.
- So, who said the information in this article "crowds the main article and is harder to read"? Columbia719 (talk) 20:25, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- I said it. And why would it be the end of the world if this article was created? In other articles, it doesn’t have a huge section of information, it has a summary and a new article is created to go in depth. WeatheredAviation (talk) 20:27, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- I didn't say it would be the end of the world if this article was create. I said there is no need to create a new article when all of that can be done in the main article. When checking the word count of each storm, Hurricane Jeanne has 3757 words and Hurricane Frances has 4246 words. This article in its current state is only 2921 words. Hurricane Frances is currently a good article, so there's likely not much to be done for that topic to make it a high-quality article. As for Jeanne, a lot of information is incomplete, so the article will be larger than its current state. I doubt the information about Florida for both storms would need expansion given its size and quality, but anything can happen. I'd hold off on developing this draft into an article unless it really would "[crowd] the main article and [be] harder to read", which I doubt would happen. Since Charley is a GA and Ivan’s effects were on the panhandle, I think stick with Frances and Jeanne for now. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 02:02, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
