Career
[edit]FreedBallet
[edit]In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Vitally and Ameli Amialishka founded FreedBallet. Initially developed while living in Bali, the project was conceived as a way to combine the foundations of classical ballet with more expressive, cinematic elements. Tatler Asia has noted that FreedBallet seeks to popularize ballet, highlighting its role in introducing the art form to new audiences across Asia. [9]
From 2021 FreedBallet toured across Asia, with performances in Indonesia[10], Malaysia [11][12] and Singapore.[13] FreedBallet actively works with local artists and musicians in each country it tours, fostering cultural exchange and helping to bring ballet to wider audiences across Asia.[14] In September 2023, FirstClasse Malaysia highlighted FreedBallet’s reimagined productions of The Nutcracker and Swan Lake presented in Kuala Lumpur, describing them as a major cultural event that season. [15] In November 2023, BroadwayWorld reported that the company returned to Jakarta with a special New Year’s production, featuring founder Vitally Amialishka as principal dancer. FreedBallet has also featured guest appearances by internationally acclaimed ballet stars. Among them are Ivan Vasiliev[16], principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow; Eleonora Sevenard[17], prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre; and Liudmila Khitrova[18], Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus and prima ballerina of the National Opera and Ballet of Belarus.
Currently, Vitally Amialishka serves as the choreographer and producer of Ballet Soundtrack Show [19] FreedBallet’s flagship production. The show [20] features contemporary ballet pieces created by himself, performed to some of the most iconic film scores of modern cinema — including Avatar (2009 film), Interstellar (film), and Oppenheimer (film)[21] — accompanied live by an orchestra.
