Verified for Climate is a United Nations initiative, launched in 2024, to combat misinformation and disinformation about climate change on social media.[1] It gathered a team of "Verified Champions" (scientists from many countries,[2] who are also content creators on social media) to collaborate on combating fake climate information on social media[3][4][5] and WikiHow.[6] The initiative has the support of TikTok,[7][8][9] and benefit corporation Purpose is involved.[10]
