Comment: You’ve made a great start on the article, unfortunately, as yet it lacks sufficient sources which prove notability. It requires 2-3 sources which are reliable, independent, secondary sources, which talk at length about the topic of the article. Unfortunately the sources you have so far aren’t quite there. The Blue lab sources aren’t independent, the interviews are primary rather than secondary sources, and the others are written by the man himself, and therefore neither secondary nor independent sources. Toyohito Tanaka (Japanese: 田中 豊人) is a Japanese business executive. He is the President and CEO of Blue Lab Co., Ltd., and also serves as an Executive Advisor to Mizuho Financial Group.[1] He is known for his leadership in digital transformation (DX) and corporate innovation across major Japanese and global companies.
Career

[edit]Tanaka began his career at Konica Minolta Holdings Inc., where he was involved in corporate restructuring and new business development. He led the company’s withdrawal from its camera and photo business and initiated new business ventures in emerging fields such as OLED technology.[2]
General Electric Japan
[edit]In 2009, Tanaka joined General Electric (GE), where he served as Executive Managing Director of GE Japan from 2010. He oversaw corporate strategy, new business creation, and digital transformation initiatives including industrial IoT and additive manufacturing. He also led major cross-sector projects, including post-2011 disaster recovery initiatives and programs supporting the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.[3][4][5]
Alibaba Group / Ant Financial Japan
[edit]From 2018, Tanaka served as Executive Vice President of Alibaba Japan and Chief Operating Officer of Ant Financial Japan. He led the introduction and expansion of Alipay in Japan, and promoted the use of the Alibaba ecosystem to support Japanese companies entering the Chinese market.[6][7][8]
Ricoh
[edit]In 2020, Tanaka joined Ricoh as Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Innovation Officer (CDIO). He led the company's overall DX strategy, establishing the Digital Strategy Division and launching the “Ricoh Digital Academy” to develop digital talent.[9] Under his leadership, Ricoh was selected for the “DX Brand 2022” by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry,[10] and received the “Nikkei Smart Work Award 2023” for innovation.[11][12]
Blue Lab / Mizuho Financial Group
[edit]Since 2023, Tanaka has served as Executive Advisor to Mizuho Financial Group, and in 2024 became President and CEO of Blue Lab Co., Ltd.[1]. Blue Lab functions as an innovation subsidiary of Mizuho Group, focusing on co-creation with startups and incubation of new digital businesses. Under Tanaka’s leadership, the company launched social innovation projects such as the healthcare storytelling platform “Minna no Cure Story,” the regional crowdfunding initiative “Juris,” and the gamification project “GLOCAL AGENTS.”[13][14][15][16]

[edit]Tanaka is an Executive Member of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives (Keizai Doyukai) and serves as Vice Chairman of its China Committee.[17] He previously served as Vice Chairman of the “New Business Creation through Advanced Technology,” “Sports and Arts Industrialization,” and “Olympic and Paralympic” committees.[18] He is also a Special Advisor to ICHI Commons Co., Ltd., and has served as an Advisory Board Member of Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd., Auditor of GE Healthcare Japan, and Advisor to Fabit.[19]
