Tere Ishk Mein (transl.In Your Love) is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language musical romantic drama film directed by Aanand L. Rai[1] and co-produced by him with Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the banners Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series Films.[2] The film written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav,[3] with Dhanush and Kriti Sanon in the lead is described as a spiritual sequel to Rai's 2013 film Raanjhanaa. The film is set be released in theatres on 28 November 2025. The film will be also be screened at the Gala Premiere section at the 56th International Film Festival Of India (IFFI) in Goa on the same date.[4][5][6]

The film is a romantic action drama that follows Shankar, an angry young man who falls in love with his college classmate Mukti. Their relationship develops during their time in college, but complications arise when Mukti decides to end the relationship and agrees to marry another man. The story explores Shankar’s emotional turmoil, the consequences of his anger, and the impact of unfulfilled love on both their lives.[10]

Rai said that the idea of making Tere Ishq Mein was to put forward the sensibilities of Raanjhanaa keeping the Gen-Z audience in mind.[11]

Development and casting

The film marks the third collaboration between Rai and Dhanush.[a] Rai cast Dhanush once again as according to him the actor falls in his comfort zone.[12] [13] Kriti Sanon was cast as the female lead in February 2025.[14][15] The film's story, screenplay and dialogues were co-written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav. The film is described as a spiritual sequel to Raanjhanaa.[16] [17] The lead cast of the film includes Dhanush and Kriti Sanon. [18] Tere Ishq Mein was first announced on June 2023 but did not start filming until October 2024 except for a promo shoot, due to the busy schedule of Dhanush. [19]

Filming

Principal photography began in October 2024 with initial filming stating from June 2023, when a promo video was shot and launched, on occasion of 10th anniversary of Raanjhanaa.[20] The film has been shot in Delhi and Benaras with Kriti joining the shot in February 2025.[21] The filming was completed on July 2025, and film is now into post production.[22] Some scenes were also shot in Shri Ram College of Commerce that went viral.[23] In April 2025, the Leh schedule of the film was completed.[24] The final leg of shooting was completed in Mumbai.[25]

The film's soundtrack and background score has been composed by A. R. Rahman with lyrics by Irshad Kamil.[27] The audio rights were acquired by T-Series.[28] The title song 'Tere Ishk Mein' was released on 18 October 2025.[29] The second song 'Usey Kehna' was released on 2 November 2025.[30]

Marketing

An initial teaser was released on Youtube on 27 January 2025. A full teaser was released on 1 October 2025.[31][32] The teaser was attached to Kantara: Chapter 1 and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari as the producers wanted to make full use of the festive mood during Dusshera and Diwali as part of their marketing.[33] As part of the marketing campaign, the entire sountrack album was released at an event in Mumbai where everyone associated with the film was present.[34][35] The official trailer was released on 14 November 2025[36][37]

The official trailer for Tere Ishk Mein received media attention and was analyzed by several major outlets.The Times of India highlighted the themes of grief and unfulfilled desire presented in the trailer.[38] Hindustan Times noted the strong audience response and compared the narrative intensity to Raanjhanaa.[39] NDTV also reviewed the trailer, commenting on the dramatic stakes and visual boldness.[40]

Release

The film is scheduled for release on 28 November 2025 worldwide in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.[41] The film will be also be screened in the Gala Premiere section at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa on the same date.[42]
