Randika Tishan (born February 8, 1993) is a Sri Lankan makeup and special make-up artist. He is the most awarded makeup artist in Sri Lankan Theater Industry. Randika works as a character makeup artist in various fields such as cinema, stage, television drama, commercials, music videos, and web series. A record twenty seven ( 27) times Awarded , beginning when he won the inaugural award for the 2016 "URUMAYA" shortplay by suresh Madushan Perera.
Early life
[edit]Randika received his primary education from Bandaranayake College, Mirigama. His artistic career began when he played the role of Podi Hamuduruwa in the children's stage play "Saththunge Dawasa" by the then drama teacher of the school, Ajith Krishantha de Seram, while studying in the fifth grade (2003). During his school career, he has twice won awards for Best Actor the national drama competitions in the school division.
Career
[edit]After completing his school education, Randika's professional career began when he joined the stage drama makeup artist Chamara Rajapaksa. After receiving basic training on the subject of makeup from him, he began searching for new knowledge on the internet. He began to study makeup on his own by experimenting with his newly discovered knowledge at home.
In 2013, his journey changed when he joined the Diploma Course in Drama and Performing Arts conducted by the National Youth Services Council of Sri Lanka. Randika himself has said that joining the makeup instructor Jagath Padmasiri, whom he met during that course, was a special event in his life. In December 2014, he joined the teledrama industry as a makeup assistant under the senior makeup artist Nalin Premathilaka in the teledrama "Duvili Mal".
He made his debut as a stage makeup artist in the 2016 short drama "Urumaya" directed by Suresh Madushan Perera.
In 2018, he established a makeup company called "Wizard Makeup". Through this, a team of professional makeup artists was created .
