Olympia Andritsou is a Greek handball player. She plays as a centre back for Thessaloniki-based PAOK HC. She also plays for the Greece women's national handball team and previous captained the national side at U17 and U19 levels.
Biography
[edit]Andritsou was born in Giannitsa, Greece in 1998.
She began her professional career in 2005 with Megas Alexandros Giannitson, where she remained until 2017. During her twelve years with the club, she made numerous appearances in the A1 Women’s Handball League at a very young age and also competed in the EHF European Women's Cup.[1]
In the 2017–18 season, she joined GAS Kamaterou, finishing the A1 season with 72 goals in 13 appearances, and was named the league’s Second Best Playmaker.[2] The following season (2018–19) she played for Anagennisi Artas, scoring 39 goals in 8 matches. In 2019–20, she signed with Aris Nikaias, delivering impressive performances with 126 goals in 12 games, ranking as the second-highest scorer in the A1 League.
Andritsou returned to Anagennisi Artas for the 2020–21 season, scoring 59 goals in 6 matches before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Between 2021 and 2023, she played for OFNI, scoring 116 goals in 38 appearances.
In the 2023–24 season, she returned once again to Anagennisi Artas, recording 156 goals in 18 matches and finishing as the top scorer of the A1 Women’s Handball League.[3] During the first half of the 2024–25 season, she continued with Anagennisi Artas and got a transfer in the middle of the season to PAOK HC, finishing again as the league's top scorer with 129 goals in 19 games.[4]
International career
[edit]She has been an active member of the Greece women's national handball team since 2016. She previously served as captain of the Greece U17 and U19 national teams.
