Mohammad Rigi Derakhshan is an Iranian political scientist and academic specializing in international relations, ethnic studies, and Middle Eastern politics.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Rigi Derakhshan completed his bachelor's and master's degrees in political science in Iran. He earned his Ph.D. in International Relations from Istanbul Medeniyet University in Turkey in 2020. His doctoral dissertation, titled "The View of Iran's Sunni Ethnic Groups (Baluchs and Kurds) on Iran's Foreign Policy," examines the perspectives of Sunni ethnic minorities on Iran's foreign policy. His research focuses on the political and social dynamics of Iran and Baluchistan, with particular attention to ethnic identity, nationalism, and the role of media in shaping political discourse.
Publications
[edit]Rigi Derakhshan has authored and co-authored several scholarly articles and books. Notable works include:
"Political and Social Developments of Baluchistan (1971–1989): The Left Movement in Baluchistan" "Factors Forming Iran's Foreign Policy Identity," published in Vakanuvis - International Journal of Historical Researches. "Afghanistan'da Basının Tarihsel Gelişimi: Monarşi Rejiminden Taliban Dönemine (1873–1994)," co-authored with Hülya Özkan.[1][2]
