Meiko (Japanese: メイコ) (officially stylised as MEIKO) is a Vocaloid software developed by Yamaha Corporation and is now distributed by Crypton Future Media. She was released initially on November 5th, 2004 for the first Vocaloid engine. Meiko has performed onstage as a animated Holographic projection along with Crypton's other vocal synth personified characters, marketed as Virtual idol Meiko was one of the first 4 vocals featured in vocaloid's prototype, "Project Daisy," under the codename "HANAKO".[1]
Meiko's voice comes from Japanese singer and songwriter, Meiko Haigo, whom she was also named after.
