Draft:Mario Pinto

  • Comment: Well done on creating the draft, and it may potentially meet the relevant requirements (including WP:GNG, WP:ANYBIO) but presently it is not clear that it does.
As other reviewers have noted, Wikipedia's basic requirement for entry is that the subject is notable. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’.
All substantive statements require sourcing: see where I have marked "citation needed".
Relatedly, in the 'UFC Debut' section: 1-3 sources is sufficient to verify a statement, please observe WP:CITEKILL and include only the strongest sources for any statement, with 3 maximum, so please remove excess sources.
The image used almost certainly breaches copyright, which Wikipedia takes seriously, so should be removed unless clear evidence of its legal use is provided.
Also, if you have any connection to the subject, including being the subject (see WP:AUTOBIO) or being paid, you have a conflict of interest that you must declare on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please click the link).
Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page. It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject.
It would also be helpful if you could please identify with specificity, exactly which criteria you believe the page meets (eg "I think the page now meets WP:ANYBIO criteria #3, because XXXXX").
Once you have implemented these suggestions, you may also wish to leave a note for me on my talk page and I would be happy to reassess. Cabrils (talk) 23:42, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
  • Comment: The subject seems notable enough, but sourcing is an issue. The content of several pharagraphs is not supported by their inline citations (failed verification tags). You should also add more substantial sources that are independent and reliable as well. NeoGaze (talk) 09:29, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

Mario Pinto is a Portuguese mixed martial artist competing in the heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).[1] Known for his striking prowess and composure under pressure, Pinto remains undefeated in professional MMA, with notable victories across various promotions, including the Levels Fight League (LFL) and Dana White's Contender Series.

Career

[edit]

Levels Fight League

[edit]

Pinto's breakthrough came in the LFL, where he participated in the Heavyweight Grand Prix. He secured victories over Filip Bradaric, Aladin Ben Halima, and Moreno Kacapor, all by knockout or unanimous decision.[2][3]

Dana White's Contender Series

[edit]

On October 8, 2024, Pinto appeared on Dana White's Contender Series, defeating Lucas Camacho by knockout in the first round at 1:43.[4]

UFC Debut

[edit]

Pinto made his UFC debut on March 1, 2025, at UFC Fight Night: Kape vs. Almabayev. He faced Austen Lane, defeating him by knockout in the second round at 0:39.[5] Despite being knocked down early, Pinto rebounded with a right hook. Speaking to The Independent after the fight, Pinto summed it up as “bing, bang, bosh,”.[6] Despite earning a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus, Pinto was self-critical of his performance, describing it as "absolutely trash" due to pre-fight jitters and a delayed start.[7][8][9]

Fight Record

[edit]

As of March 2025, Pinto holds an undefeated professional MMA record of 10 wins, 0 losses, and 0 draws.[10]
