Comment: Awards only contribute to notability if the award itself merits an article, like Nobel Prize for Literature or Pulitzer Prize. Awards for your books might merit your books articles, but not necessarily you yourself.This still reads like a resume- because it is you telling about your work and accomplishments, and not an independent editor summarizing what independent reliable sources have chosen on their own to say about you. Janina Rossiter is a French-German environmental artivist and author whose work addresses ocean conservation and climate awareness. Her art has been presented at international sustainability events, including the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow,[1] ChangeNOW at the Grand Palais in Paris, ,[2] POLITICO ’s Sustainable Future Week in Brussels,[3] and the 5th International Marine Protected Areas Congress (IMPAC5) in Vancouver.[4]
Artivism Chat, a podcast series featuring interviews with over 60 artists engaged in environmental and social activism. Initially hosted as live audio discussions on Clubhouse. Apple Podcasts.[5] The project was supported by a volunteer moderation team and was featured by 2Good Media for its focus on sustainability and the arts.[6]
Exhibitions and notable appearances

The illustration Mangrove was selected for the Sketch for Survival initiative by the conservation charity Explorers Against Extinction and exhibited at COP26 in Glasgow, United Kingdom. It was displayed in the Blue Zone VIP area of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, accessible to accredited delegates and world leaders.[7][8]
IMPAC5, the 5th International Marine Protected Areas Congress held in 2023 in Vancouver, participation took place within the “Artivism for Ocean Conservation” program, referenced in the official public summary report.[9]
At the ChangeNOW Summits at the Grand Palais Éphémère and Grand Palais in Paris, contributions included illustrations from 1, 2, 3, Who’s Cleaning the Sea? in the 2022 “Art for Change” section,[10][11] and later design work for the Eiffel Stage, central totem, and official event materials.[12][13] In 2025, the “Interconnection Totem” was featured as part of the summit’s artistic program, reflecting its "Year of the Ocean" theme.[14] Insights into Rossiter's approach to artivism and her involvement with ChangeNOW can be found in the 2Goodmedia podcast episode titled "Change Now Paris: Art as Activism, a new way of taking action for the environment?"[15]
22nd International Weather and Climate Forum, held at Académie du Climat in Paris. The event featured leading climate scientists, including Jean Jouzel, and included the series Le fil rouge est bleu (The Common Thread Is Blue).[16]
The WOW (World Ocean Week) Festival’s Village Nautilus program, an official side event during the UN Ocean Conference (UNOC3) in Nice, featured art workshops for children and youth programming with Janina Rossiter (Artivist). A collaboration between the City of Nice, Nautilus, and UNESCO, Village Nautilus was set up in the heart of Nice, between the Théâtre de Verdure and Parvis Cotta.[17]

The illustration Mangrove received the title of Sketch for Survival – Wild Spaces Artist of the Year at the Explorers Against Extinction awards, held at the Royal Geographical Society in London.[18]
The book 1, 2, 3, Who’s Cleaning the Sea? was named runner-up in the Arts category at the P.E.A. (People. Environment. Achievement.) Awards for its environmental impact.[19]
Rossiter was selected as an independent judge for the Coldplay Art Challenge, a global competition jointly organized by Project Seagrass and Coldplay's management team. Media coverage
[edit]Hamburger Abendblatt published an article on Rossiter’s participation at the COP26 in Glasgow, where her artwork Mangrove was included in the “Sketch for Survival” initiative, which supports climate and wildlife conservation efforts.[24]
ECO Magazine featured Rossiter in Chapter Seven of its Ecosystem Diaries series, produced by The Marine Diaries in collaboration with the United Nations' UN Ocean Decade initiative. The article, titled "Giving Our Ocean a Voice," described her use of visual art in the context of marine conservation.[25]
EZDIVE Magazine (Issue 102) featured an article titled Artivism: The Artists and Artwork Fighting for Ocean Conservation. The piece included an interview and images of her work.[26]
Lemon Magazine (Issue 22) published a six-page feature titled Artivism: Drawing for the Ocean, focusing on Rossiter’s educational art initiatives and her approach to visual storytelling for environmental causes. The article appeared in the magazine's summer edition.[27]
