Farhana Bhat (also credited as Farrhana Bhatt) is an Indian film actress from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. She has appeared in Hindi films and has worked in music videos and web series. Bhat gained wide public attention after participating as a contestant on the reality television show Bigg Boss 19.[1][2]
Early life and education
[edit]Farhana Bhat was born and raised in Srinagar, in a Kashmiri Muslim family.[3] She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the Government College for Women in Srinagar.[4] She later trained in acting at Anupam Kher’s institute Actor Prepares in Mumbai.[4]

[edit]Bhat made her film debut in 2016 with Sunshine Music Tours and Travels.[5] Her breakthrough came with the Imtiaz Ali–produced film Laila Majnu (2018), where she played the role of Jasmeet.[4] She later appeared in Notebook (2019), a romantic drama produced by Salman Khan Films.[3] In 2023, she appeared in the Rahhat Shah Kazmi directed Country of Blind, playing the role of Rameshwari.[6]
OTT / Digital work
[edit]Farhana Bhat expanded her career into digital streaming. She made her OTT debut with The Freelancer (2023) on Disney+ Hotstar, playing the role of Saiyma Faisal.[7] In 2024, she appeared in India’s Braves: Chapter 2 on Amazon miniTV portraying the character Rihanna.[8]
Other work
[edit]Bhat is a national-level taekwondo gold medalist and has been a multiple-time champion in martial arts competitions.[3] She is also known for advocating women’s empowerment and positive representation of Kashmiri youth.[7]
