Datasite

[edit]

Datasite (previously known as Merrill Corporation) is a software company that provides virtual data rooms and related tools for use in the mergers and acquisitions process. Datasite is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota.[1]

History

[edit]

The company was founded in 1968 as K.F. Merrill Company, initially focused on financial printing.[2] Rusty Wiley was named CEO of Merrill in 2014 after a career at IBM.[3]The company rebranded from Merrill to Datasite in 2020, as the business shifted focus to software offerings for M&A professionals instead of the previous financial printing business.[4]

In December 2020, Datasite was acquired by CapVest Partners LLP, an international private equity firm.[5]

As of 2025, Datasite had approximately 2,000 employees and supported deals in around 180 countries.[6]
