Connie Shi is a Chinese-American actress, filmmaker, and songwriter.

Life and career

Shi was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and identifies as queer.[1] In 2022, she joined the cast of NBC drama Law & Order as Detective Violet Yee. [2] In 2024, she was cast as Rabbi Louise in the body possession comedy Omi with Bunny Levine and Dree Hemingway.[3]

As a filmmaker, she produced and acted in the 2024 Sundance short film The Looming Cloud.[4] She is also the creator of Project:Girl, a film series inspired by true stores of girlhood.[5][6][7] Her film The Rebirth premiered at Tribeca Festival in 2025 and won a Jury Special Mention at Fantasia International Film Festival in 2025. [8][9][10]

Shi also writes and performs original music. In 2020, her pandemic-inspired song Zoo was featured on the NPR podcast Heavyweight.[11][12] She self-released her debut E.P. Our World in 2022. [13]
