Cice Rivera (born June 20, 1970) is an American actress, director, singer-songwriter, author, licensed therapist, Clinical & Psychology Researcher, and spiritual teacher. She is the founder of the Samadhi Consciousness Movement and the creator of the HEAL MAPSS model, which integrates mental health, addiction treatment, psychology, meditation, and spirituality.[1] In 2025, Rivera won the InterContinental Music Award in the Gospel/Contemporary Christian category (Best of North America) for her song "Puppet".[2]

Early life and education

Rivera was born in Newark, New Jersey, and raised in West Orange, New Jersey. She graduated cum laude in her bachelor’s studies and summa cum laude in her graduate program at Touro University. During her undergraduate years at Excelsior University, she founded and served as president of an Honor Society chapter.[3]

Her formal education includes degrees in psychology, forensic psychology, metaphysical sciences, parapsychology, holistic life coaching, and addiction psychiatric medicine. She also earned a Doctorate (PHD) in parapsychology, and a Doctorate (DHLc) in Holistic Life Coaching, is also pursuing a Doctorate (PsyD) in Human and Organizational Leadership Psychology from Touro University.[4]


Performing Arts and Film Career

Rivera began her professional journey in the performing arts at the age of 16, performing in theater and film. These early experiences cultivated her understanding of storytelling, human emotion, and the psychological depth of character, laying the foundation for her later work in healing and personal growth.

She transitioned into directing and producing, creating films that explore mental health, addictions, personal transformation, and spirituality. Through her artistic work, Rivera developed a unique approach that blends creative expression with clinical and spiritual practices, using film and performance as tools for education, empowerment, and transformation. Her background in the arts continues to inform her therapeutic work, integrating storytelling, visualization, and creative methods into her HEAL model for mental health and spiritual growth.[6]

Professional Practice and Research

Rivera is a Licensed Professional/Certified Addiction Professional (CAP), and the founder/CEO of Bout Me Healing LLC.[11] She developed the HEAL MAPSS model, integrating mindfulness, meditation, yoga, positive psychology, stoicism, and Jungian psychology into clinical practice.[12]

Her clinical expertise spans addiction psychiatric medicine, forensic psychology, mental health, parapsychology, and metaphysical sciences, with experience in prisons, hospitals, schools, and treatment facilities. Rivera oversees and coordinates clinical trials and research projects, including developing study protocols, managing budgets and timelines, recruiting and training research staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, liaising with external stakeholders, monitoring and analyzing study data, and supporting the ethical execution of studies in mental health, addictions, and holistic wellness. Rivera incorporates meditation, yoga, and positive psychology into treatment and has experience in prisons, hospitals, and schools.[14] She also teaches art and drama therapy with works featured on Pictorem.[15]

Rivera is actively engaged in psychology research, including training artificial intelligence (AI) for psychology and clinical research applications, contributing to data analysis, research design, and mental health studies. In 2025, she was accepted as a scholar writer with the UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), gaining access to its Realms Award Lifecycle Management System to participate in funded writing and research projects supporting mental health and addiction initiatives.[16]

As a musician, Rivera has composed hundreds of songs across multiple genres. In addition to her InterContinental Music Award win, she was a finalist in the Latin Music category for "Drunken Quest" and a featured finalist at the 2 Hot Radio Grammy Weekend Showcase Awards for her song "Fake Concern".[17][18] Her music is available on platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud.[19]
