Anissa Matlock (born 8 June, 1990), is an American actress and filmmaker. She is known for her recurring roles in The Power (2023),[1] and Peacemaker (2025),[2] and her supporting role in the coming-of-age drama film, Beast Beast (2020).
Early and personal life
[edit]Matlock was born in Augusta, Georgia.[3] She grew up in a military family.[4] She is the eldest of three siblings.[3] She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Visual and Performing Arts from Clayton State University in 2012.[5]
Matlock resides in Atlanta, Georgia.[4]
Career
[edit]Matlock's first television role was a two-episode arc on the AMC series, The Walking Dead, in 2014. She went on to appear in guest roles on The Gifted, The Resident, and Reprisal.[5]
In 2020, she starred in the coming-of-age drama film, Beast Beast, as Lena. Critics for Variety and IndieWire both described her performance as a "standout" of the film.[6][7]
Since then she has appeared in recurring roles in The Power, Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches,[5] and later, the second season of the HBO Max DC Universe series, Peacemaker.[2]
