Anime di coraggio (English: Souls of Courage), is a short documentary written and directed by Giorgio Ghiotto, and produced by Nicola Paparusso[1] for Paparusso Communication.[2][3] The short film was presented by the Italian Ministry of Defense and Italian Navy, an premiered at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival on 5 September 2025, starring Salvatore Mazzola, and Francesca Citarella.[3][4][5]

Summary

Anime di coraggio follows the lives of the young crew aboard the Italian offshore patrol vessel Raimondo Montecuccoli as it nears the end of a global circumnavigation. With one final challenge ahead, the passage through the Red Sea and return to the Mediterranean Sea.[3] The film offers an intimate, human portrayal of life at sea. Through evocative imagery, it reveals the personal journeys of the sailors, each navigating their own sense of duty, identity, and belonging. United by a shared mission, they reflect a deep awareness of being part of something greater, and a readiness to sacrifice in service to their country and to protect those they love.[3]
