On 24 April 2025, a Royal Thai Police De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter crashed off Cha-am district shortly after takeoff. On board there were six people, three pilots, two mechanics and a flight engineer, whom were all killed.[1][2][3] The aircraft was on a training flight from Hua Hin Airport, located on the border between the provinces of Prachuap Khiri Khan and Phetchaburi. The aircraft reportedly suffered a failure of its number two engine.[4][5][6]
