An in-flight stabbing on Lufthansa Flight 431 occurred on 25 October 2025, when a passenger allegedly attacked two teenage boys with a metal fork during a transatlantic flight from Chicago to Frankfurt. The incident prompted an emergency diversion to Boston Logan International Airport, where the suspect was arrested by authorities.[1] The suspect, Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli, is also accused of also hitting a female passenger. He is being charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to do bodily harm while traveling on an aircraft in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States. It is also alleged he “raised his hand, formed a gun with his fingers, put it in his mouth and pulled an imaginary trigger.”[2][3] Usiripalli, an Indian man, was on an overstayed student visa in the US.[4]
