Yefim Naumovich Bronfman (Russian: Ефим Наумович Бронфман; born April 10, 1958) is a Soviet-born Israeli-American pianist.[1]

Biography

Bronfman was born in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR, and immigrated to Israel at the age of 15. He was born into a musical Jewish family. His father Naum Bronfman was a concertmaster of the municipal opera orchestra, his mother Pauline Bronfman was a pianist, and his older sister Elizabeth later became a violinist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.[2] He became an American citizen in 1989.[3]

Bronfman's teachers were Arie Vardi, Rudolf Firkušný, Leon Fleisher, and Rudolf Serkin.[4][5]
