Improving AI Generated text barnstar

[edit]

At AfC I decided to pass Erythrocyte-based drug delivery despite some AI writing concerns. These have somewhat been addressed over time but it is still a work in progress. One user WeirdNAnnoyed in particular has done a great job of tackling this massive problem. They have done so not only on this article but it is a useful example. I was about to award an original barnstar, but I think we should make a dedicated barnstar. This is a novel problem in editing that many editors will need to learn about. I think a dedicated barnstar will help to make example editors that we as a community can learn from. At Village Pump there has been many attempts, with limited success, to build consensus on AI policy. A dedicated barnstar may help to bring attention to cases where editors are doing a good job thereby creating moments to learn from a grow a future consensus. Updating Human Sexuality barnstar

[edit]

The Template:HumanSexualityBarnstar seems very outdated in terms of the image choice and the default colors of the box and text. As a minimum, this one definitely needs to be updated to the Barnstar 2.0 standards. But I figured while we're at it, we should do a complete overhaul. Updating Cryptozoology barnstar

[edit]

Template:The Nessie Barnstar is cute, but simple. It also just looks like a classic tree snake draped around the star itself. I'm wondering if there is a way to update this barnstar to make it a little more "lake monster"... alternatively, if consensus leads to this one staying as is, do you think we could create a new barnstar with a more recognizable cryptid like Bigfoot as an alternate design? Incorrect Service Award

[edit]

Hello,

I came across this user User:GOLDIEM J 's user page who has awarded himself the Wikipedia:Service awards#Journeyman Editor (or Grognard) Journeyman Editor award. The award's requirements state that the user needs to have 2000 edits.

However, upon checking this User's user logs (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log/GOLDIEM_J&type=&user=GOLDIEM_J&offset=&limit=100) it seems that they have less than a 100 edits.

What is the due course of action in this case?

I'm new here and would like to be a participant in this WikiProject, hence I thought it is vital to bring this to attention here. Kingsacrificer (talk) 14:58, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid you're mistaken, buddy. If you check my contributions again, you'll see I have over 5,000 edits on my account. The logs you've filtered are entirely page creations and moves, which are not the only edits that count towards the criteria. GOLDIEM J (talk) 16:49, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I did not know this. I assumed the 'logs' will contain everything about the user's edits. Apologies for the confusion. Kingsacrificer (talk) 07:08, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Red Barnstar 2.0

[edit]

I have created a 2.0 version for a barnstar - The Red Barnstar 2.0. I followed the 2.0 guidelines.

What are my next steps? How should I insert it in the Barnstars list? Kingsacrificer (talk) 15:35, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
