Merge Dongola gerbil into Greater Egyptian gerbil?

The IUCN[1] and MDD[2] both seem to regard the Dongola gerbil (Gerbillus dongolanus) as a synonym of the greater Egyptian gerbil (Gerbillus pyramidum) - should the former be merged into the latter? Cheers, Ethmostigmus 🌿 (talk | contribs) 02:40, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
