Help for improving draft.
[edit]I am currently working on Draft:Matlachines and have come here looking for assistance. The draft has been flagged for potential AI use (even though I have refrained from using it), and also described as redundant or “made-up,” despite being well-sourced.
This draft focuses specifically on the origins of the Matlachines dance, with multiple scholarly sources, particularly in the context of the Americas. I believe there may be a distinction between Matachines and Matlachines, but I leave that decision to the moderators. Any advice or guidance on improving, merging, or expanding the draft would be greatly appreciated. Tenamaztle (talk) 21:38, 17 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, I saw your request and would like to help. I looked over your draft and it seems like the reviewer took issue with the use of sources and potentially a non-encyclopedic style (although could have been much nicer in conveying the message). I can help you clean up your sources (usually you need to cite only the most notable source) and maybe change some of the style and formatting to better comply with Wikipedia's Manual of Style. Let me know if you'd like to work together! One-summer-day (talk) 18:36, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
José Sigona Torres
[edit]Hi. I came across José Sigona Torres through the unreferenced articles project. I reinstated an old reference that had been removed, but wondered if anyone here had an insight as to whether the businessman and the politician are actually the same person? And of course, if there are other references that could be added to improve the article, that would be splendid too. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 09:32, 12 September 2025 (UTC)

Scope of the article for Soldaderas
[edit]Hello! I am currently working on updating the article on soldaderas and have run into an interesting problem. The article says that soldaderas were women who served, specifically, in the Mexican Revolution, and is framed as being entirely about the women of the Revolution. However, I don't really know that this is supported by the academic literature. Salas, for example, does not make any distinction between women who served as soldaderas in the Mexican Revolution and in other conflicts, such as the Mexican War of Independence. None of the other literature I've found specifically limits the scope of soldaderas to the Revolution either, though this definitely seems to be the most studied period. I am not Mexican, though, so I was wondering if a popular distinction exists. Are soldaderas thought to be exclusively a thing of the Mexican Revolution? If not, should the scope of the article be expanded? Spookyaki (talk) 19:46, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
