More reliable sources for bed count

[edit]

I'm looking to update list of hospitals in Pennsylvania, specifically the bed counts for the three largest hospitals. I've looked at the American Hospital Directory (AHD) that is listed in this wikiproject, but I'd like to back up the numbers from another source if possible. The AHD would list Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest as overtaking Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as the second largest hospital in Pennsylvania, but some other sources aren't backing that up. Hi Alpaca,
When I work on hospital-related pages, I try to see if there is an official record of bed counts published by state government. As the state itself determines how many beds a hospital is allowed to use, this is usually the most accurate - and as far as I can tell, AHD often pulls from state sources. Some states don't have easily accessible records, but others do. For Pennsylvania, I believe I've located a good source for what you're doing.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health has a Hospital Reports webpage. You will likely find the bed count information you're looking for in either Report 2-A (Inpatient Hospital Unit Data) or Report 2-B (same thing except for federal and specialty hospitals). They have not updated the data for 2024 yet, the data there is for 2023.
I hope this helps! Mangocove (talk) 20:00, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you are still looking,
In the uk at least you can just ask them, its quite a lot more formal than emailing them, it's called a freedom of information request which in the uk they are legally required to reply to, and to respond with factual information.
Might be worth looking if there is such a thing in the usa. BenjaminRawling (talk) 21:54, 16 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please add reliable sources. See the Wikipedia:WikiProject Unreferenced articles/Backlog drives/November 2025 Project page for more information. Bearian (talk) 12:48, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center edit request

[edit]

Hi editors, as part of my work for Beutler Ink on behalf of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, I have posted a request to update early history about the hospital. If you are interested, check it out here. I am happy to discuss more over on the Cedars-Sinai article Talk page. Thanks! Danilo Two (talk) 20:52, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistent regional spellings Centre hospitalier universitaire Sainte-Justine

[edit]

I discussed earlier on the article’s talk page that the sentences use inconsistent British and American spellings. I’ve nominated this article for improvement, and on top of that, I’ve also reached out to the creator of this article and made a to-do list. I’m posting a nearly identical comment on WT:CANADA, WT:QWNB, and WT:MTL. 2600 etc (talk) 18:15, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion about WikiProject banner templates

[edit]

For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:

There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Proposal to update wording on WikiProject banners.
