RfCs on autism

[edit]

There's an RfC on whether the current article is consistent with NPOV and a second RfC on whether to keep the current lead or replace it. LogicalLens (talk) 06:04, 27 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Disability flag

[edit]

Perhaps someone from this WikiProject could take a look at Disability flag. It looks like the article was recently expanded, but all of the new content in unsourced and reads like WP:OR. Maybe someone more knowlegdgable about the subject matter can figure whether there's something worth keeping that can be verified by reliable sources, or whether it all needs to go. Some formatting errors (section heading capitalization and other stuff) were also introduced, but these are fairly esy to cleanup; it's the content itself that's more of a concern. -- Marchjuly (talk) 20:52, 6 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I see what you mean and I went ahead and removed the most irrelevant section. SomeoneDreaming (talk) 22:05, 14 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Input requested on documentary draft featuring autistic editor and ADHD athlete

[edit]

Hi all,

I’m inviting members of WikiProject Disability to review and offer feedback on the article draft Draft:Beyond Limits 2025, which covers a documentary that includes prominent representation of neurodiverse individuals.

The film features Sean Smith, an 18-year-old autistic editor who directed the post-production for a full-length triathlon documentary, and Raymond Mouzon, who lives with ADHD and led the challenge as director and one of the athletes. The film was released in 2025 to coincide with World Autism Awareness Day and emphasizes themes of inclusion, resilience, and capability.

You can view the relevant section and sourcing here. Both individuals are discussed with reliable sourcing from BBC News, Bracknell News, and others.

Given the film’s direct relevance to neurodivergence and public representation of disability in media, any support or suggestions to strengthen the draft for mainspace approval would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much! Steph walker (talk) 18:33, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Improving start-class article Abuse in special education

[edit]

Hi! I've been working on this article for the past few days and I added some sources but it would be great if someone else could take a look at it. I think it's an important topic so I've been working to get it expanded but I'm not really sure where to go from here to make it more comprehensive. Hello~I was trying to see if I could fit Aghwee the Sky Monster somewhere into Category:Works about disability or its subcats, and found this section of the category tree quite confusing to navigate. For example, Category:Literature about blindness is not under Category:Disability literature, but Category:Literature about blind people is. Or Category:Disability literature contains subcats for novels related to deaf and blind people, but not for novels about autism (which does exist but is only listed under Category:Works about autism). Or Documentary films about schizophrenia is a grandchild of Fiction about schizophrenia.

I would like to overhaul this category a bit so the structure is more consistent and people can more easily find the right category. I looked at some of the category talk pages to see if there has been previous discussion about how everything is structured, but there hasn't been a lot of discussion yet.

The only thing is that I've never done this before and while I have some familiarity with the subject, it is not my area of expertise. So I'm unsure whether/how to proceed. WP:FAQ/Categorization says "it is best to discuss your plans with others working in the same areas", so I am writing here to see if this would be the right place to find people for said discussion/feedback/collaboration? Cheers. ~ TheZoodles (talk) 18:25, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
