imgur.com

[edit]

We have some 5000 links[1] to imgur.com, one of the better known image hosting websites. It seems as if in many (most?) cases this is used to upload copyrighted images (which are not allowed on Commons) to be able to link to them. Such links are not allowed (WP:LINKVIO). Wouldn't it be better to blacklist the site (and any similar ones, after discussion)? Fram (talk) 11:03, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This idea has merit. I looked at the list and took care of one: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lockheed_Martin_F-22_Raptor&diff=prev&oldid=1286840168 The old citation was just lazy. And, links to pictures on imgur now - and have for a while, IIRC - automatically redirect: eg. clicking on http://i.imgur.com/SDIJRdn.jpg will take you to https://imgur.com/SDIJRdn with who knows what on the right side. Imgur also has a persistent problem with inappropriate advertising. - 15:05, 22 April 2025 (UTC) Wikkiwonkk (talk) 15:05, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

City-Data

[edit]

Hello, City-Data is not allowed on Wikipedia. Wikipedia blacklisted City-Data's website for Population, maps, real estate, averages, homes, statistics, relocation, travel, jobs, hospitals, schools, crime, moving, houses, news, sex offenders. I deleted City-Data's website from Evanston, Wyoming on Wikipedia for Religion. Thanks. --Rossdegenstein (talk) 22:27, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
