Vlastislav is known for the ruins of the Skalka Castle. The first documented owner of the castle was Petr of Skalka in 1357–1360, but the castle may be older. In 1418 Skalka came into the possession of Hans von Sullowitz and remained in the possession of the noble family Cappleri de Sulewicz (Czech: Kaplíř ze Sulevic) until 1540. Between 1540 and 1544, Jan of Vřesovice owned Skalka, followed by Jan Kaplirz of Kostial. In 1578, the estate passed to Adam Hrzan of Harasov through marriage. The castle was devastated by the Swedish army during the Thirty Years' War in 1639 and was never restored. Only the bergfried of the castle has survived to this day.
After the war, a new Baroque mansion was built next to the ruins by Jan Hrzán of Harras, according to plans by Antonio della Porta. The building materials were salvaged from the decaying castle. In 1718, Anna Putz of Adlersthurn, owner of Dlaschkowitz and Podseditz, also became the owner of the Skalka estate. From 1796 until the land reform of 1923, the combined estates belonged to the Counts of Schönborn, who lived in the castle until 1945. In January of the same year, the future Archbishop of Vienna and Cardinal Christoph Schönborn was born in the castle.
Today, various exhibitions and expositions are located in its interiors.[6]
