VTV5 Central Highlands is the ethnic language television channel of the Central Highlands region of Vietnam Television, officially broadcast from October 17, 2016 . VTV5 Tay Nguyen channel plays the role of a bridge for people of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands and South Central regions, and the channel is also mobilized to broadcast live a number of major events . Ethnic minority language programs are broadcast from 05:00 to 09:00 and from 13:30 to 16:30, the remaining time is reserved for Vietnamese language programs.

History and established

  • October 1, 2016: Establishment of the Central Highlands regional resident agency under the Ethnic Language Television Department - Vietnam Television.
  • October 17, 2016: Broadcasting of national television channel VTV5 Tay Nguyen and inauguration of DVB-T2 broadcasting station in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province.[1] The channel is broadcast 24/7, the control center is located in Hanoi.
  • January 6, 2018: The channel is broadcast in HD format on K305 - VTVCab Digital Television nationwide.
  • May 10, 2020: Establishment of the Central Highlands regional office under the Vietnam Television Center in the Central Highlands region.[2]

• October 26, 2022: The channel is broadcast in HD format on K26 - VTV's digital terrestrial television in Dak Lak.

  • From the end of 2022, the channel will begin to be broadcast on other platforms such as FPT Play, TV360, MyTV, etc. At the same time, in 2023, the channel will begin to be broadcast in HD format on each platform.
  • On April 13, 2023, the channel will officially be broadcast in HD on the VTVgo application and the online newspaper vtv.vn.
