Use of LLMs to edit articles

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm TurboSuperA+. An edit that you recently made to 2025 Marche regional election seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. I didn't use llm. Here's my detailed editing history regarding the topic. It was all handwritten with only the information taken from the web with the help of gpt4. Ukrain4Pal (talk) 12:30, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This revision includes the following text: Here are some of the candidates from the Matteo Ricci Presidente list (coalition: centre-left / “Alleanza del Cambiamento”) in different provinces (non-Wikipedia sources): and If you want, I can send you the complete list of all candidates for “Matteo Ricci Presidente” (all provinces) with full names. Do you want that?
That is evidence that an LLM was used to search for names and compile the list.
with obly the information taken from the web with the help of gpt4
That is what I am talking about. Information that is found "with the help of gpt4" can be hallucinated/wrong. Please see WP:LLM, to read about LLM use on Wikipedia. TurboSuperA+[talk] 12:39, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but that was on my userpage. Not on an encyclopedic wikipedia article. I edited and crosschecked every information that gpt4 gave me from these sources, 1, 2, 3. And after that i added the edited version (edited by me) without blatantly copy pasting the llm. Which, as far as i know, is acceptable per WP:P&G and WP:LLMCIR. Ukrain4Pal (talk) 12:53, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ukrain4Pal Please do not remove the LLM tag from articles until you can confirm that what the LLM output is true. I did not revert your removal, per WP:AGF. Then while finding sources for the names on the list I found two mistakes: "Cavaliere" was spelled as "Cavalieri" and instead of "Gatti" the surname was written as "Dattilo". See diff. I hope that this shows you that LLMs make mistakes all the time and that their output should be closely scrutinised. TurboSuperA+[talk] 11:39, 14 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2025 Marche regional election, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SWG. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 20:08, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
