It is disruptive and you will be reported if you continue. 107.119.53.130 (talk) 02:21, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your IP edit constituted vandalism and was treated as such. Tvfunhouse (talk) 02:22, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
How was it vandalism? On Wikipedia, vandalism has a specific meaning. WP:Vandalism - read it. Then apologize. 107.119.53.130 (talk) 02:26, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your writing was both dismissive and opinionated. WP:NPOV - read it. Editorializing the lead to an article, therefore knowingly worsening its quality, seems vandalous to me. Looking forward to the report! Tvfunhouse (talk) 02:30, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You accused me of vandalism, and reverted me for vandalism. Nothing was vandalized, you are now being disruptive. You need to self revert before we discuss your personal attacks and fringe editing with an admin. 107.119.53.130 (talk) 02:36, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Again -- looking forward to it! Tvfunhouse (talk) 02:39, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The IP is correct that the edit was not vandalism. Please don't misuse the term. jps (talk) 15:00, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

That whole reverting conflict business

[edit]

I also believe their actions on your (User:Tvfunhouse) talk page warrants Wikipedia:WikiBullying, considering they demanded an apology and self-revert with the quid pro quo of an admin appeal. This situation has gotten quite out of hand for what it was.

In regards to 107.119.53.130. A person of sorts (talk) 04:06, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks User:A person of sorts, I agree. I didn't figure reverting an IP edit would've snowballed the way it did, but I guess it was bound to happen as "some" of the involved parties have been causing issues regarding fringe sciences on the project for upwards of 15 years. I'm not engaging with it further, moreso because I was never interested in the article beyond general vandalism/unconstructive edit patrol, but I'd still love to see their supposed report on me. Tvfunhouse (talk) 21:51, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, I was suprised how this spiralled. I'm not the greatest vandalism patroller anyways. And if this is any indication, I don't wanna mess with any religion-based vandalism unless it's very obvious.
I wouldn't bet on anything but I would be suprised if that threat of a report went particularly far. We did what we figured to be best to ensure the neutrality of that article. I wasn't there to defend the Mormon faith - nor do I think you were. I don't know honestly. I'd rather this dies off, considering that article looks to be on the pathway to deletion. A person of sorts (talk) 22:33, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Being accused of being Mormon apologist was honestly not on my 2025 bingo card lol A person of sorts (talk) 22:39, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I wasn't there to defend it either. It certainly looks like it (rightfully) will go the way of deletion. Tvfunhouse (talk) 00:08, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Future films

[edit]

Regarding your edits on Zach Cregger about the planned Resident Evil reboot: You quoted WP:FUTURE, but it says "almost certain", which is not the case for films at this stage. The more specific policy WP:NFF explains the details. The sentence WP:FILMOGRAPHY about not including films that haven't started filming yet is closely related and exists for the same reasons.

In general, a more specific guideline overrides a less specific one. In this case, editors might disagree about whether "almost certain" applies for such film projects, but they discussed it (multiple times, I guess...) and reached the consensus I described above.

I guess you disagree with this policy. I also often disagree with certain conventions, and that's annoying, but I follow them anyway. Wikipedia is a collaborative project, and it's important that we abide by community decisions, even if we disagree with them.

If you feel very strongly that this policy should be changed, you can start a discussion at the talk page of WP:NFF or WP:FILMOGRAPHY. Occasionally, even a long-standing rule is modified or reverted. But in this case, I think it's very unlikely that you'll convince others.

Anyway, this isn't meant to scold you. As far as I can tell, you're doing a good job. Thanks! It's perfectly normal that a relatively new user doesn't yet know all the intricate rules of Wikipedia. :-) Happy editing! — Chrisahn (talk) 10:51, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate you taking the time to clarify and your kindness. The last thing I'm trying to do is defy policy or ignore guidelines in favor of my own opinion. This is the first time I've been made aware of the policy (and I had been looking!) in question here, so I appreciate that you've brought it to my attention. I had cited WP:FUTURE as it seemed to have accounted for the inclusion of forward-looking information for unreleased products so long as it isn't advertising, but that may have been a misinterpretation on my end.
That said, I've been defending the film's inclusion based on Cregger recently announcing on a live-stream earlier last month that he was in the process of relocating to Prague to begin production soon. I understand that snippets of Twitch streams don't exactly align with reputability standards here, but having been unaware of the policy I had assumed that coupled with recent media coverage, that it was notable enough for inclusion.
I'd like to note that Prague Morning has recently reported that production has commenced on the project. Hopefully as local reports continue to trickle out, more specific information will be provided and it can be re-added eventually. Tvfunhouse (talk) 15:43, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
