- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.
Happy editing! Cheers, Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 06:08, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
Rollback granted
[edit]
Hi TheM1sty. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Aoidh (talk) 03:47, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
Wow, you are getting fast!
[edit]From one anti-vandal to another, well done on the reverting and warnings. You seem to be doing great.
It might be worth noting that Welcome templates are usually only used once the user has edited. You can see on some of the welcome templates, it says 'thank you for your contributions...'. As they haven't contributed, it is not usual to post welcome messages. This gives some information at the top of the page about it.
This isn't a big deal, it's just a reminders about using templates. I should really use them more myself!
Keep up the great work, Knitsey (talk) 19:40, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi!
- Thanks, I'll take that into account in the future. TheM1sty (talk) 19:48, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
Hello! I just wanted to let you know that I think you've been hasty to revert an IP's edit. You rollbacked the edit (which does not provide a descriptive edit summary) but it looks to me like the IP is trying to help (especially with the better articulation of the same thing that theymade as their next edit here). It would probably be better to communicate on the talk page about which wording to use rather than rollback the edit as if it was vandalism. Best regards, QwertyForest (talk) 17:39, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hey!
- I rolled it back for bad grammar, I'll be more considered in the future. TheM1sty (talk) 21:56, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
