Hey, first of all, thanks for the cool photos you've uploaded to Commons over the years. Regarding this one from 2016, I removed it (diff) from Warlock's article for the reasons I mention in the edit summary. Does it make sense to you, or am I missing something? Cheers — Gor1995 𝄞 17:41, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Gor1995 I have found the photocopy of the plan of the Eastern portion of Nightingale cemetery that I got from the council offices in 2016. It was annotated by hand by them with the locations of the three plots I was interested in; Julius Caesar, Jack Philips and Heseltine. 2417 {sic) is what they gave for Warlock. I never saw the register of the burial records of the cemetery, have you? It is possible they transposed numbers particularly as Julius Caesar was 2217, the one they wrote above 2417. My photocopy is sufficiently clearer than the online version [1] that with a microscope I might be able to read the numbers. However a link to a non-free image would be good in any attempt to find the correct grave. A quick search came up with Ohio! I MIGHT be able to re-visit to correct the error. Best wishes SovalValtos (talk) 23:24, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for answering! So cool that they gave you that map... yeah, i hope that your map is sharper than the online version because i can't see anything there haha. For a link of a non-free image you can see List of burial places of classical musicians (which is why i initially got interested in his grave) or his memorial in Find a Grave. You can see that Find a Grave indicates his plot number is 2147. It is also the same number that appears in the burial records of the cemetery (link, Warlock's entry is number N7/5262, page 65). It would be fantastic if you could visit that spot and take pictures, it's a beautiful way to honor his enduring legacy in music. Best wishes — Gor1995 𝄞 08:12, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Gor1995 The microscope and an ordinary magnifying glass were enough to find that with magnification in-between I should be able to read some of the plot numbers. However one of the additional images in Find a Grave [2] should give enough to locate the plot on foot with the copy I have printed. Are there any more musicians there?SovalValtos (talk) 11:22, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Great! No, i don't think there are any more famous people in that cemetery. — Gor1995 𝄞 23:23, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please be more careful when reverting a talk page comment. I was quoting an unclear sentence in the article and asking for clarification. NOTAFORUM is completely inapplicable.—Chowbok 22:22, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reading the source or tagging the article if you User:Chowbok don't understand text and want it explained might be a better route. Best wishes.SovalValtos (talk) 23:08, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Aboyne reversion

[edit]

Hi, could you please provide more info on the reason for your reversion of my edit on Aboyne. Is it the 'resident to' phrase particularly? This is a standard use of the word resident per https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/resident . Thanks! TallUntidyGothGF (talk) 23:29, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Resident in would be acceptable? TallUntidyGothGF (talk) 23:32, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I now see the grammar is messy, i will fix and resubmit TallUntidyGothGF (talk) 23:34, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ridge Farm Studio

[edit]

Would you mind explaining your reverting on 7 January of my edit? I'm particularly curious about your reference to "Mao".

The English post-punk band Gang of Four did indeed record their Songs of the Free album at Ridge Farm Studio in March 1982. https://andygillmusic.com/discography/go4/songs-of-the-free/.

Would appreciate your response. Jreinsch Jreinsch (talk) 07:18, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Jreinsch you did not give a source WP:V for your addition of a band to the client list and you linked the name to the Maoist political faction. andygillmusic.com does not appear to be a reliable independent source.SovalValtos (talk) 12:50, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wisley Airfield, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages M25 and A3.

Hi--reopening this conversation. We don't have a source to reference, outside of a facebook post to our team group. Please let me know if this is acceptable as a source.

Msstarsman Please explain who you mean by 'We'. Have you not read the links I put on your talk page, one being to WP:RS? I see no chance of a post to a private facebook group being considered a reliable independent source. Please use the article talk page to discuss its content.SovalValtos (talk) 00:40, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Patric Dickinson

[edit]

There are two of them. You keep changing the link to point to the one who did not attend Marling School. Is this deliberate? Imaginatorium (talk) 10:38, 10 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but I suppose you do understand how links work? Patric Dickinson is one article, on someone who did not attend Marling School, and who was not a heraldic woteveritis; Patric Dickinson (officer of arms) is a different article, on the one who did attend Marling School and who is an "officer of arms". Imaginatorium (talk) 10:49, 10 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) @Imaginatorium - I saw your comments here and SHOUTED note on Marling School. I think you have made your point about there being two Patric Dickinsons. However, there is no evidence (that I can see) that Patric Dickinson (officer of arms) attended Marling School. Even if his article did have evidence, the citation still has to be on the school's article as well, because Wikipedia (itself) is not a reliable source. His name should really be removed from the list of notable alumni (and the school from his article) until a citation is provided, per WP:BLP. Tony Holkham (Talk) 11:26, 10 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Imaginatorium no Dickinson is cited as having been a pupil at Marling school despite there having been an old citation request. I shall remove the unsourced material.SovalValtos (talk) 20:53, 10 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There should be a ribbon for it. Out of curiosity I checked your user page, and by searching for the words "Remove" it seems your Remove/Edit ratio is above 1/3. A third of thousands of edits, dedicated to removing content :) Which must be a tiresome endeavour. To each his own way of using the site... KRaikkonen01 (talk) 13:49, 18 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

KRaikkonen01Thank you for your appreciation. Agreed, tiresome is the content that requires removal.SovalValtos (talk) 18:48, 18 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
