Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.
Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting involved. Sleuthin' Sarandon (talk) 20:28, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Megatron

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I enjoyed reviewing your article on the Megatron building. I think you should nominate it for inclusion on Wikipedia's home page at Did You Know? -- let me know if I can help with the process there. Dclemens1971 (talk) 18:41, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks very much. I'm still quite new to editing on Wikipedia, so any pointers would be appreciated. It would be great to see it on the home page. Sleuthin' Sarandon (talk) 20:01, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
OK, go here: [1]. Enter your article title and the date created. For "hook", you'll write a short (no more than 200-character) question filling in the part after "did you know ... that". Here's an example, "...that passersby in Cambridgeshire reported the Megatron restaurant to police as a UFO?" You can add multiple hooks if you like. Then, you'll add your source for this claim. It's helpful to add the sentence(s) from the source that validate the claim in addition to the reference, especially for an offline source. Check "include image" and add the link to your image. No quid pro quo review is required since you're new to this. Here's a sample of one of my completed DYK noms for reference: Template:Did_you_know_nominations/Spaceship_House. Good luck and get it done in the next four days, which is the window for submitting a DYK! Dclemens1971 (talk) 20:36, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again. The example you gave was very apt! Sleuthin' Sarandon (talk) 21:15, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
