Prayagraj name change

[edit]

Hi. Some editors are trying to change the name of Prayagraj to Allahabad. Can you go to the article talk page and share your opinion.2401:BA80:A39A:E771:C49:290F:F8AB:DE31 (talk) 12:12, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Of course Shubhsamant09 (talk) 00:19, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is unacceptable WP:CANVASSING, for what it's worth. Remsense ‥  01:46, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Really isn't. He was simply asking him to give his opinion. Never stated whether they should support the name change or not. Flux0909 (talk) 00:24, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, specifically asking someone you already think agrees with you is center-cut canvassing, and it would take particular effort to ignore that being the dynamic here. Remsense ‥  00:42, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Idk man, how do you think the guy already knows @Shubhsamant09's stance? I'm not as experienced as you, so I'm genuinely asking you how do you conclude that this Canvassing? Flux0909 (talk) 00:44, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not going to indulge in an in-depth analysis on someone else's talk page for their own sake, but the phrasing "some editors are trying to change X" is already expressly partisan. I'm going to be frank: the IP messaged only editors with usernames that would, given a clearly low but plausible standard of evidence on their part, indicate a perspective aligned with theirs regarding the move. That's enough for me, as this isn't a court of law and mistakes that happen are low-stakes and can be remedied in good faith. Remsense ‥  00:53, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I see, thank you for explaining. Flux0909 (talk) 00:59, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Article translation

[edit]

Hi, I was hoping you could assist me in translating Tibetans in India, an article you yourself created, into the languages you are fluent in. I've been trying myself, and feel it could be quicker if we do it together. Flux0909 (talk) 00:23, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved content from Tibetans into Tibetans in India. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content (here or elsewhere), Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 11:38, 14 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hi, Thank you for your time. I understand the reason behind the block and take full responsibility for the violation. I’ve submitted a detailed unblock appeal through the ticket system (UTRS), where I’ve acknowledged the sockpuppetry and explained the context and intent behind my actions. I want to reassure you that I’m committed to editing constructively and transparently going forward, and I’m no longer using any alternate accounts. I respectfully ask that my appeal be considered based on the good faith intention to move forward the right way. Thank you again for your attention to the matter.Shubhsamant09 (talk) 02:39, 15 April 2025 (UTC)}}[reply]

Decline reason:

Your sock account held conversations with this account. Under the circumstances, I think your best chance of being unblocked is to take the standard offer and re-apply in 6 months time with no more abuse of multiple accounts. PhilKnight

Hi, I'll keep note of this. Shubhsamant09 (talk) 22:00, 15 April 2025 (UTC) (talk) 11:22, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

UTRS appeal #102228 -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 08:48, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I see no private information in your UTRS request; all of it should be here. 331dot (talk) 09:16, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I did see a lot of LLM use at the UTRS request, though. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 22:36, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Writing in a formal tone does not equalize to the use of an LLM model. For the record, I acknowledge my mistake in violating Wikipedia’s sockpuppetry policy, and I fully accept the procedures that have been set in place as a result. I appreciate the time and consideration given to this matter. Shubhsamant09 (talk) 22:38, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I just want to make it clear that the user reviewed and passed his own GA nomination at National Front assistants affair. This has since been undone. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:59, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
